Bossy John

Has anyone noticed that by the end of Season 1 and all through Season 2, John is Sherlock's "humanity coach", making sure he's civil and well-behaved whenever possible? And Sherlock just shuts up and does what he's told. Whenever Sherlock gets too gleeful over a tragedy, whenever his response to a comment isn't quite appropriate, John corrects him and Sherlock plays along.
"Not good?" "A bit not good, yeah."
&
"He meant 'thank you.' Just say it, Sherlock." "I did? ...Thank you."
&
"Just put the hat on."
John clearly has some considerable power over Sherlock, even if Sherlock is the "flashier" person in their relationship. I'd like to see some slash where John "branches out" in his usage of this power, & see how far he can go in telling Sherlock what to do. It would be especially great for Sherlock to comment on it but be clear that he's okay with it if it's John.
