(Okay, so this isn't exactly Sherlock-meets-House -- sorry, OP! -- but that last bit of your prompt, about Watson and Wilson meeting, triggered this plot bunny.
This is Sherlock/House/RDJ!Sherlock Holmes. EPIC CROSSOVER ACTION

John nodded once, and then obediently recited the rules he'd learned. “Don't drink anything he hands you. Don't assume that you've ever properly hidden anything from him. Never believe him if he tells you he's dying. Hide his violin if he's playing it during time off.”
“Under your mattress,” Watson amended. “Remember, it's no use trying to hide it from him. But if it's under your mattress, he won't be able to retrieve it without waking you.”
John nodded. Clever. “Anything else?”
“The most important rule, John,” Wilson reminded him. “Try not to feed his already-planet-sized ego

Yes. This. There is no House meeting, but this is still just PERFECT. Exactly what I wanted.
I fricking love Watson and Wilson giving John advice, and then chuckling over him being 'young and optimistic' before admitting they're still no better XD

They got good reception here between universes, he noticed.
This is ridiculous and awesome.
Never believe him if he tells you he's dying.
Hahahaha, I approve.
(But just like when RDJ!Holmes throws the violin onto the ground in the movie, the thought of a violin under a mattress makes me hurt. I assume you probably meant a violin inside its case, but seeing that scene in the film scarred me for life, LOL. I literally have to cover my eyes like a preschooler when it comes on, idek.)
Love it! I've been seeing little things in Sherlock like gestures or ways of saying lines that remind me of different incarnations of the pair (up to and including some handthing John did that was incredibly Robert Sean Leonard), so this was delightful.

It's a trick that both House and canon!Holmes have pulled multiple times...

I would hope Watson would put it in its case first, yes! Then again, he had one hell of a temper in the movie. I can imagine that, in a fit of temper, he doesn't really care about the well-being of Holmes' violin. :(
I'm sure John will treat Sherlock's property with much more respect.

Oh, I didn't even think about House! "The Adventure of the Dying Detective" was, naturally, the first thing in my mind, but he does do it rather a lot, especially to the ducklings. Nice!
