I hope this will do. It's not an easy subject and the Muse wasn't very cooperative, but lame excuses aside, I hope it pleases you and your luv. You two deserve far better, I must say. Although Mycroft Holmes had always gone to what sometimes seem extreme lengths to keep tabs on and protect his younger brother-and now his younger brother’s flatmate-he did not generally take equal measures to protect himself. It wasn’t necessary, really, as only a very, very few knew him to occupy anything other than a ‘minor position in the British government’. If he was in a situation where he might require it, he would have absolutely excellent security people minding his safety, in many instances he was happy enough knowing that his driver or his assistant would be more than adequate to deal with any random threat that popped up in the course of daily business as usual. In a pinch, Mycroft could defend himself against almost any unarmed attacker and often even those bringing weapons to the engagement; however, it was most often best to take

Yay! This is very well done - I can imagine John had a very hard time keeping Sherlock from killing those idiots. Mycroft and Lestrade are very sweet together.
