Before sending Moran out killing or whatever, Moriarty always packs him a sack lunch with special snacks and treats and always includes a wee note telling Moran he's a good little sniper, and if he fucks up he's dead. The usual.

Long before Lestrade knew of a man named Sherlock Holmes, he was wandering around a government building, acting as a plainclothes police man.
That plan abruptly went down the drain when he was randomly grabbed by a man he didn't know, introduced in that panicked way of someone completely cornered as being the boyfriend of said man... and proceeded to flirt with the rather handsome guy that had picked him up.
Nothing came of it, but every now and then Lestrade thinks rather fondly of the man and wonders who he was.
Mycroft Holmes never forgets.

AU - Shadowman!Sherlock
Sherlock is a shadowman. He can travel via different shadow/darkness. He steals peoples souls when they aren't looking.
He meets John, who has the purest soul he has ever seen. When he tries to steal it, he realizes that he can't. No made what he does, he can't touch it.
What he can do is wrap himself around John and seep in some of its warmth.
Eventually, John's soul turns Sherlock human.

A bowl of chocolates sits on the coffee table in 221B (leftovers from Christmas, or John's birthday, or whatever the reason it is they're there).
One day Mycroft comes in to visit Sherlock and John or offer them a case and John notices his eyes keep wandering over the bowl of chocolates, longing look followed quickly by a minute and guilty shake of his head, clearly denying himself the small treat.
Cue John snapping.
"For God's sake, Mycroft, you're a beautiful man, stop torturing yourself and just take one!" John says, offering Mycroft the bowl.
Mycroft reluctantly takes a chocolate and looks up at John: "... Beautiful?"
Can be gen or M/J with a side of incredulous-and-a-touch-mocking-but-still-okay-with-it-as-long-as-John-remains-his-friend-and-accompanies-him-on-cases Sherlock.

Sherlock Holmes was born intersexed and raised as a girl by well meaning parents until his drug abuse and suicide attempts made them realize they didn't have a daughter, they had a son trapped in a girl's body. He still resents them for that.
John Watson is transgender, FTM, He was born as Jane Watson, Identical Twin Sister of Harriet Watson. He always felt like he was born into the body, even if that body that of a perfectly normal girl. Harry hates John for breaking the mirror image when he decided to become John H. Watson.

Crossover with The Sandman... since Benedict Cumberbatch looks like a certain character and Neil Gaiman needs to make this casting choice happen if he does make a Sandman movie.
