Matrix AU (HOLY $%!& LONG PROMPT, SORRY) anonymous March 11 2012, 02:48:10 UTC
I know there's been a few Matrix AU prompts since some crossover fanart started floating around tumblr, but I've had this fic in my head for MONTHS and, sadly, no time to write it.

When John Watson was a teenager/young adult, he started his career as a computer hacker. It began as a fun way to make a few bucks, but years later it becomes an obsession that nearly destroys his life. Knowing from personal experience that this path of addiction is not one he wants to follow, he drops it cold turkey and enlists in the army as a way to straighten himself out. Cut to present day and John is invalided home from Afghanistan with a newly rekindled interest in the question he never got an answer to - What is the Matrix? As soon as his investigations begin again, he starts to receive strange phone calls and the very distinct impression that he is being followed - by people, by CTV cameras; nowhere he goes is safe. When it comes to a head with John literally running for his life from weird men in suits, he is intercepted by strangers in a sleek ( ... )

May be in need some kind of warning... anonymous March 11 2012, 02:48:30 UTC
...not quite sure what this is, honestly.

So, sometimes John gets a bit frustrated. Sometimes, Sherlock just pushes one too many buttons and John can't quite handle it. Sometimes, he loses his temper. And...well, sometimes John maybe takes that frustration out on Sherlock when they have sex.

Sometimes, there are deep, dark bruises left on Sherlock's hips and thighs and shoulders and arms, ones that linger for far too long. Sometimes, Sherlock walks with a bit of a limp for a day or two afterwards and winces a bit when he sits. Sometimes there's a bubble of guilt that swells in John's chest, growing larger and larger each time it happens, each time Sherlock forgives him, and each time John swears he'll never do anything so horrid again.

But the thing is, Sherlock likes it. Not the bruises or the pain - both of which are inconsequential and highly exaggerated on Sherlock's part. No, what Sherlock likes is the after-effect. The way John dotes on him in his guilt, how tenderly John treats him, as if he'd break at the slightest touch, ( ... )

John winces at the deep reddish-purple marks around Sherlock's waist, his thumbs had been digging hard into Sherlocks' kidneys near the end of this latest encounter, and feels bile rise in his throat right as the guilt comes crashing down on him. Face first over the coffee table this time, there's blood on Sherlock's shoulder, along with a perfect oval of teeth indents, each one vividly visible. He hadn't used enough preparation or lube either, the bottle hidden between the couch cushions had been near empty, and he hadn't bothered with wasting time to find more. He doesn't want to know how much damage he's caused this time ( ... )

TW: Non-con...he's fine, though, really anonymous March 11 2012, 02:49:32 UTC
So, Sherlock was raped.

He's fine, though.

Really.

No, really, he's fine.

Oh, for the love of- Honestly. Aside from the aches and pains, he's perfectly fine.

No, there's no emotional trauma. Are you serious?

For god's sake! So, he was assaulted in what just so happened to be a sexual nature! And?! How is it any different than nearly being killed in his flat, or strangled by his scarf, or drugged and beaten, or the dozen other things the criminals he chases have done to him. He'll be walking with a limp and it'll be a bit painful to sit, but give it a week and he'll be fine.

Honestly, what's got everyone so worked up?

clarification:

Will you be disappointed if he really IS fine, and the fic kind of runs on how...not horrified, because that's too strong of a word, but how...disconcerted everyone else is when they realise how much they really don't understand how Sherlock thinks and feels?

Or are you looking for h/c after Sherlock works through his denial?

Not op but if Sherlock really is FINE then the fic will be a very interesting one.And that'd be awesome.

You know something has gone horribly wrong in your life when you recognize brain and bone scans of your best friend on sight.

I.e., Sherlock and John are regular customers at the A&E.

Inspired by the baby rants anonymous March 11 2012, 02:50:33 UTC
Sherlock used to get very annoyed by babies (eye rolls, sighs, snarky comments, etc). Now that he has a child of his own, he gets extremely defensive whenever he sees someone else reacting that way around his child. "My child is only five months old and is still smarter than you!" and all that good stuff.

I'm the OP and that would actually be my ideal pairing, but I didn't specify because I didn't want to limit the author.

Sorry for the late reply!
