One should be able to find fics in AO3 by the amount of kudos, not the amount of hits.

I'm reading fics from my new fandom and it would be lovely to find the most well loved fics easily.

If you use the advanced search function, you can limit what you see to only fics with over a certain amount of kudos (or within a certain range of kudos).

You still can't sort from highest to lowest, though, as far as I know, unfortunately.
