{mod post} ARTISTS; summary pickings! (Round Two)

Oct 11, 2012 21:56

Now that all summaries have been claimed in Round One welcome to Round Two. We have the same 12 summaries up for claiming. If you missed out on a first choice last round, or are an artist who did not get to pick out a summary last time here's your chance.

As in Round One each fic can only be claimed once and priority will be given to artists who have not yet claimed a fic summary in Round One. Otherwise it's first come first served.

Here's how it works:

* Fics can only be claimed once. Priority is given to those artists who missed out in Round One.
* If you did not get to claim a summary at all last round and really want to do art for a particular fic that already has two claims please PM me but ideally try and pick a summary that hasn't got a Round Two claim.
* If you have alreeady claimed a fic summary in Round One please be sure you can manage another piece of art.
* Once all fics are claimed Round Two will close. There is no Round Three but if you haven't managed to claim a fic in either round and you still really want to take part please do comment or PM me.
* Title, pairings, warnings and summaries are all included; please pick wisely - there will be no changing once you have selected.
* To claim comment to this post with the number and title of the fic you wish to claim. Please put the fic number in the subject header of your comment.
* Once the claims have closed, you will receive an email with a draft and further details from your writer.
* Post will stay open until all fics have two claims

(if any artists who have not managed to claim could comment below to let me know that would be great, thanks)

Any questions as always let me know.

Have fun!

1) Title: Find Me and Follow Me
Summary: Molly is mostly normal, she can't really help that corpses talk to her and sometimes she feels more like a ghost than a person. Irene also has a gift, she's a touch telepath which really helps with domming. They meet through John's cellphone exchange plan that never happened in canon thanks to Sherlock and immediately start getting in to trouble. Irene prefers to see it as a holiday and Molly sees it as kidnapping but they both end up in Toronto on a mission to retrieve a bit of computer data for one of Irene's clients. But this data is something that one James Moriarty is willing to kill for and our two heroines end up stuck in the middle of a fight to destroy the modern world. All while falling in love. I promise it's much more exciting that I'm making it sound.
Pairings, Characters: Molly/Irene, side/background John/Sherlock
Warnings/spoilers: none
Notes: would love any type of art except manips.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: amoralambiguity
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

2) Title: Twisting And Turning The Colours In Rows
Summary: Sherlock/Let The Right One In fusion (knowledge of the book/film is not necessary to understand the fic). John Watson is an isolated thirteen year old boy: he’s got a distant mother, a resentful older sister, and a sadistic bully at school called Moriarty who’s got it in for him. When Sherlock Holmes moves in next door, he and John form a rapid, intense friendship based on their mutual loneliness. Unfortunately for John, Sherlock’s got issues that go much deeper than loneliness. He’s been thirteen for a very long time, and he’s always hungry.
Pairings, characters: Sherlock/John (sort of, seeing as they're thirteen after all), with various Sherlock characters plus a couple of OCs
Warnings/spoilers: violence, bullying (including homophobia), mentions of eating disorders, creepiness (though I've cut/adapted/toned down a lot of the creepiness from the original book/film!), general creepiness that goes with having a vampire character (mainly blood things), minor character death ("offscreen"), abuse of canon quotes
Notes: prefer not to have an artist who does fanmixes

ROUND ONE CLAIM: harlequinehands
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

3) Title: Not Just Transport (temporary title)
Summary: Sherlock and Doctor Who fusion. The Detective, while traveling with his companions Greg Lestrade and Molly Hooper, encounters a strange surge of energy which disables the TARDIS and forces it to crash land on a planet where they're greeted with open arms. Not everything is as it seems, however, when they're also greeted by a mad man who seems to know the Detective quite well. (A very loose retelling of The Doctor's Wife).
Characters: The Detective (Sherlock Holmes), John Watson, the TARDIS, Greg Lestrade, Molly Hooper, Harry Watson, OC's
Pairings: implied Sherlock Holmes/John Watson (The Detective/The TARDIS), unrequited (and possibly later requited) Lestrade/Molly
Warnings: Major Character Death (technically--makes sense if you've seen the episode)
Spoilers: Doctor Who 6.04 (The Doctor's Wife), currently none for Sherlock.
Notes: No fanmixes, fanvids, or manips.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: pennswoods
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

4) Title: Copy That
Summary: Afghanistan changes a man, some more than others. In which John develops the ability to transform into any animate being he sees. [Includes: caracal!John, guinea pig!John, fly!John, mouse!John, Sherlock!John, and John!John.]
Pairings, Characters: Sherlock/John
Warnings/spoilers: Remember when Sherlock drugged John in Hound? More along that theme. Also, (light) bondage, gags and sensory deprivation, and hints of D/s dynamic (predominantly of the Sherlock/John variety). Semi-selfcest (i.e. Sherlock/Sherlock!John). Sex in front of a mirror. Sex in a boat. Sex on a ship. Also, a scene gone wrong and awkward. (I swear there is an actual plot in there and it's not all porn.)
Notes: Would prefer art/manip to mix.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: chosenfire28
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

5) Title: Twilight Falling Slow
Summary: After the end of World War I, Major Gregory Lestrade must decide what he will do with the rest of his life. Although Greg had considered staying in the Army, a friend introduces him to Mycroft Holmes, a widowed minor government official who is in need of a tutor for his five children, because his brother had absconded with the previous tutor. As Greg settles into his new role, he finds himself developing a friendship with his employer and trying not to wish that it would develop further - particularly after he learns that Holmes is planning to marry a woman whom nobody likes. This is a historical AU set in 1921; it is inspired by "The Sound of Music" but is only sort of a crossover, and is somewhat related to the Lord Peter Wimsey universe. Lots of opportunities for British and French clothing and uniforms from the late Victorian through 1921 Parisian fashions, as well as children's and adolescent clothing; motorcycles and automobiles; manor houses; theatrical costumes (the Battle of Thermopylae and a performance of Taming of the Shrew); kids, John/Sherlock, Greg/Mycroft, and the children's Auntie Irene, who lives in Paris and is a Surrealist.
Pairings: Mycroft/Lestrade (primary), Sherlock/John
Warnings/spoilers: some explicit sexual content (wanking, men having sex), kidfic, OOCs, a sympathetic Irene, war imagery and mention of PTSD, historical AU, sort of a Sound of Music crossover, Wimsey-ish, previous het relationships for both Greg and Mycroft.
Notes: prefer not to receive video if that's an option.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: azuremonkey
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

6) Title: The Science of Musicality
Summary: AU: Sherlock’s a professional violinist. John is his accompanist collaborator. They’ve got a recital in three months, and someone doesn’t want them to perform it.
Pairings, Characters: No pairings/Sherlock, John, Lestrade, Moriarty, Mycroft
Warnings/spoilers: Excessive music terminology
Notes:

ROUND ONE CLAIM: le_prince_lutin
ROUND TWO CLAIM: firefox1490

7)Title: Setting Sun
Summary: After a harrowing experience as a prisoner of war, John is done serving King and country and is doing his best to recover back home, where his roommate Greg struggles to deal with the rising tide of violence and depravity in a broken London. John's therapist really wouldn't recommend entering a basement hellhole and rescuing a skinny, sharp-tongued junkie - who doesn't call himself Sherlock and doesn't know a thing about blood magic - as a start to coping with his traumas, but it might turn out to be just what he (and the rest of the world) needs.
Pairings, Characters: (queerplatonic Johnlock/implied incipient Molstrade/possibly implied MorMor) In order of appearance: John Watson, Greg Lestrade, Sherlock Holmes, Molly Hooper, Bill Murray, OMCs, Mycroft Holmes, Sally Donovan, Mrs Hudson, Sebastian Moran, Jim Moriarty.
Warnings/spoilers: Dark themes, violence and injury, implied past child abuse, implied past rape, implied past prostitution, drug abuse, torture, minor character death, threatened (and possibly actual) major character death.
Notes: Had to include all the dark stuff in the warnings, but despite the rather grim AU, overall this story's about the growing friendship and mutual reliance between a John and a Sherlock who are determined to be survivors. Plenty of non-traumatic imagery to choose from: platonic physical closeness, tenderness, action, interpersonal tension, wonder, even some humour. And London itself, if you love the cityscape and all its hidden nooks and crannies!

ROUND ONE CLAIM: venturous1
ROUND TWO CLAIM: wakemexsoftly

8)Title: Night Shift
Summary: Former army doctor John Watson is a daylighter, a specialist bodyguard for vampires. When he's hired to be the bodyguard for a vampire's younger brother - a vampire who doesn't fit the usual vampire stereotypes of lazy aristocrat in a remote manor or wealthy, indolent playboy - John is intrigued. To his surprise, Sherlock seems intrigued by him as well. Together, they'll solve a murder and realise each is someone the other wants but never expected to find. Casefic. Slash.
Pairings, Characters: Sherlock/John (explicit), minor appearances by Molly, Mycroft, Anthea, Lestrade.
Warnings/spoilers: explicit slash, some consensual vampire feeding for recreational purposes, canon typical violence (Sherlock solves violent crimes).
Notes: No cute chibi-style art but otherwise am open. Any rating is OK.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: goss
ROUND TWO CLAIM: firefox1490

9) Title: The Haunting
Summary: In an alternate, war-torn London in 1895, there are things stalking the streets after dark. A serial killer called Stitch-face known for the brutal, bloody slaughter of prostitutes, a dark, faceless organisation whose members are rumoured to consist of the most powerful and influential, and most deadly of all, monsters known as Witch-kin.
A spate of unsolved murders, a mysterious young man with a dark secret, and at the centre of it all, Sherlock Holmes.
A Lovecraft inspired dystopian AU which is a loose fusion with The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray by Chris Wooding.
Pairings, Characters: Sherlock Holmes, John Watson. Possible eventual S/J but nothing explicit.
Warnings/spoilers: Depictions of violence, horror, minor character death, general creepiness, murder, and monsters
Notes:

ROUND ONE CLAIM: numberthescars
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

10) Title: What Harbour Shelters Peace
Summary: The year is 1808, and John Watson is a surgeon with the Royal Navy, serving on a ship undertaking a diplomatic mission to British Malaysia. He finds himself befriending the reluctant diplomat - a man by the name of Sherlock Holmes, whose brother is reputed to hold more than a minor position in the Admiralty. John helps Sherlock navigate the tricky shoals of seafaring life, but his help is not always appreciated. Throw in a long-lost love, a Governor Moriarty of Malacca sitting happily on a political landmine, and rather too much nautical jargon, and you've got yourself a story. If you like boys in cravats, angst of the melodramatic 19th century variety, and/or Patrick O'Brian, this might be for you.
Pairings, Characters: Hints of Sherlock/John; primarily Sherlock/Moriarty and John/Sebastian Moran.
Warnings/spoilers: No warnings.
Notes: something traditional would be fun to fit in with the period feel of the story, but writer honestly enjoys everything.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: sherlockholmes
ROUND TWO CLAIM: coralines

11) Title: The Adventure of the Consulting Pirate
Summary: When John Watson is looking for a flatmate in London the last thing he expects to find is a real life priate by the name of Captain Sherlock Holmes. He also doesn't expect to find himself chosen as the pirate's first mate and find himself living on a ship owned by a Mrs Hudson. And then there's the fact Captain Sherlock is also consulting for the police on a series of odd 'walk the plank' suicides'. A slightly cracky, pirate-y twist on 'A Study in Pink'.
Pairings, Characters: Sherlock/John
Warnings/spoilers: crack if that's not your thing.

ROUND ONE CLAIM: sarlyne
ROUND TWO CLAIM:

12) Title: What's on a Man's Mind
Summary: Sherlock!Cabin Pressure crossover. Molly’s got herself a boyfriend. It's a setback for Sherlock because this means a hitch in his supply line of fresh body parts for his experiments..He grows increasingly desperate as Molly outsmarts him repeatedly in his attempts to gain himself access to the contents of her morgue. Mrs Hudson and John suffer under the increasing tantrums that are being thrown. Then Molly’s boyfriend is arrested for cooking Meth in his attic room. Desperate, Molly turns to Sherlock for his assistance. At first he refuese to help her until finally she gives in to his demands. Sherlock proves the whole crime scene was a set up installed by Jim who wanted to play around a little with Molly because she made him watch Titanic when they went out together. Martin is set free and the fic ends with a happy Sherlock leaving the morgue with a shopping bag filled to overflowing with the desired goodies
Pairings, Characters: Molly/Martin, Sherlock, John, Mycroft, Lestrade, Mrs Hudson, OMC’s, OFC’s
Warnings/spoilers: none really. I've given the story a PG13 rating though because of some mentions of drug use and references to sex. Nothing to upset anyone though.
Notes: no comic books-like art. Everything else, from digital to actual painting to vid is fine.
