she hasn’t ever had control of the situation at all. And yet neither of them seems to realize that she is just dust in the hurricane that is Dexter’s life. It’s never her fault.
This is the worst fucking part.
I understand that a life in exile is a worse punishment for Dexter than death or jail, but I still hate the lack of closure it creates. (And what is all this talk about a possible spin-off? What the fuck even!)
There was so much ugly crying on my part. The more I watch it, the more I'm okay with it. Like, I *get* it. But I also think that hearing the EPs explain things is part of what MADE me get it and I think if you have to tell people about what your writing means, you didn't write it very well
( ... )
He doesn't get closure because he sucks so much as being a brother--it also made me think of the scene with him and Deb in the first ep of this season where she tells him that for all the time she thought she needed him, it's been the other way around. I think that made me accept his exile because he's realizing that she's right.
Oooh, I like that. Nice catch.
I would totally watch that spin-off. And I agree about Jennifer Carpenter - I hope she gets the long and prosperous career that she deserves!
