I've been designing tattoos for a little while now. I really enjoy it. I grew up with a comic book style of art really focusing on line work; my professors at UT in drawing class even remarked at one point "You grew up on comics, didn't you." Which is fine. I really really really think it's awesome but for one thing -- I had trouble finding the ninja. Perhaps make the area around him a bit lighter? Or is it too late for that?

I absolutely agree! There's a little light area outlined around him but it's not big enough (one of the drawbacks of working in pen) so I'm going to recommend to his tattooist to make it a little bigger to make it stand out. He also wanted the ninja to be throwing a throwing star but I "accidentally" forgot to draw it.

I can't speak "art theory"...etc., but I really like this, Rob. There is SO MUCH detail work on this. It's just amazing. How long did it take?

Thank you :D I've been working on it for the past 2 weeks at work; I'd say there's around 40-50 hours in it. I'm only charging him $150 for it which also will include several smaller color versions for reference. He wasn't sure if he wanted buddha as a real person, as a gold statue, or as a stone statue so I'm going to try it out a few ways to see what looks best.
