I'm half insanely jealous, half relieved not to have the opportunity to live in Amsterdam. It's a beautiful city, and on my list of places I'd love to live and work in (I've hung out a little with workchums there and got to know the place.)
Except... the coffee-shop thing would cause me no end of problems/ I'm happy(ish) to be a non-smoker for health reasons, but with proper weed on tap, the temptation would be an agony for me.
Mind you, I could be a singer for you! I used to sing in a band and wasn't too bad at it.

I thought the coffee shops would be more of a temptation than they have been, for me. It's nice that it isn't a hassle, I suppose is the thing, that if you decide you want to get some weed you can go and have a civilised conversation with someone behind a counter who can make recommendations and everything. I haven't much bothered, in practice, but then I was never a regular smoker and that doesn't change just because of changing availability.

Also I don't know that I've ever seen you drum? I'll try and fix that, if you get into a band agin.

I love the way musicians in Europe care so much more about their environment and community.
Is that what you've found here generally? In that case, I'm even more looking forward to getting back to playing.
