TVD/Bones + Icon Meme + Bird
First off, the last TVD epp gave me a lot of ~feelings:
I really enjoyed the last epp for the most part, more so than last week I think. I mean, Klaus being all buddy-buddy OPENLY with the Council was a bit strange (I forgot that Carol also knew the truth about Damon now), and damn, Stefan was extreme and harsh tonight (I don't know if S/E can ever come back from this), though I'm glad they gave a little explanation at least for his continued dramatic change in behavior...
BUT LET'S TALK ABOUT ALL THE CHARACTER EXPLORATION THIS WEEK! Namely in Caroline--who I was happy to see back this week after her absence last time. I love that the show took a moment on the occasion of her birthday to address her ongoing adjustment to being a vampire, I don't think they've focused on that enough as they should have most of the time. I loved how Caroline showed regret and angst over being stuck at 17 forever (LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE SHOULD, AHEM, BELLA). The funeral was sweet (as was the locker thing, omg awww--brings back middle school memories!) as were the moments with Tyler until the bite thing, oops. And then we got THIS electrifying scene:
OMG, man were my eyes glued to the screen during this scene! Joseph Morgan was just phenomenal in it, and I loved seeing some new insights into his character and a seemingly softer side--I was not expecting any of this! I mean, yes, he was the one responsible, and has ulterior motives not doubt, but I'm hoping that his motives are about him looking for a replacement for the Rebekah-shaped hole in his life (especially after regretfully putting her away in the beginning of this epp, and Stefan's comment to Damon about Klaus attempting to rebuild his family). For the moment I'm hoping it's not going to be a romantic love kind of thing, but we'll see--they have a lot of chemistry, in any case, IMO. IDK, I just find that idea of him yearning so much for company, for a companion and friend like Rebekah and Old!Stefan were, that he's drawn to Caroline now after seeing her like that, and relating a bit in terms of wanting to die at times. All that "show you the world" stuff, well it could be a Doctor-ish tendency, IDK. He's clearly a very lonely character, so I think it's possible that his motives where Caroline are concerned stem from that, and not necessarily some grand plan to eff with Tyler and the others, though that could be part of it--I hope not though.
In any case, I LOVED that scene, and I look forward to more interaction between them, and seeing where it goes. I'm also curious about how the others will react when they find out, lol, like if they find the necklace with the card? :p Should be interesting...I have to say, Klaus has REALLY grown on me and impressed me this season, I *never* imagined him turning out to be such a complex and sympathetic, interesting villain back in season 2; I remember being annoyed when I heard he'd be made a series regular this season, but now I'm glad and don't want to see him killed off any time soon!
I also loved the Elena character stuff--I was glad she got called out on for the Jeremy thing (well said, Bonnie!), and admitted it was wrong (good job show), and I loved the scene at the end with Matt, recalling her own lost innocence, with her own "funeral," so cute and bittersweet. Also just the callbacks to her parents' death in general (like Damon mentioning it when he saw the bridge model ,aw), nicely done...again, this was a good character episode rather than twisty plot one, which is nice to have every now and then.
Back to Stefan for a minute though--shit was that cold, the same death that her parents had in the same place, and pulling the same force-feeding blood stuff Damon did in season 2, but in such a different situation now...my heart was racing during that scene! O_o While he was pretty wrong doing that, I did kind of love Damon defending his actions a bit to Elena later, because you know, brothers--Damon being supportive of his brother throughout. And speaking of Damon/Elena, I'm glad they're still taking things slow but steady.
Also kind of intrigued about the new female character talking with Alaric (who is PW's wife I guess?), even though I found her scenes a bit boring, I'm curious now what her deal is...again, all around a great epp, can't wait for next week's!
I also wanted to congratulate my bb Nina Dobrev for winning the PCA for Best Drama Actress as the first write-in candidate ever--girl sure deserved the recognition, she has mad talent and was much better than the other candidates she was up against aside from Emily Deschanel perhaps (how exactly does someone like Blake Lively get these kinds of nods, seriously?). So glad about that, though still pissed at CBS's lame snubs of SPN (might as well get another use out of my "cbs sucks" tag, lol).
Last night I actually ended up watching Bones live on the air for the first time in god, IDEK, maybe since the season 3 finale in 2008? I think so actually...it's a long story (I was taping TVD though). LOLing as always at the unrealistic fake!Smithsonian stuff but okay epp overall--I was a bit confused about the end though...
Did they basically just find the killer (the computer guy), but realize they didn't have enough proof yet, and end it there? :s Because I was like, "Damn, 5 min left, how are they going to catch this guy and wrap this up in time?!" and then they didn't...is this meant to be a continuing thing for another epp, like the "Aliens in a Spaceship" guy? Just checking...also ugh does The Finder seem stupid and lame, hope it bombs.
Since I've also expanded my icon collection and fandoms a lot since I last did it, I decided to do this Icon Meme again as well. I made a deliberate effort to use different icons from last time where possible, which affected some of my selections:

DO YOUR ICONS MAKE A STATEMENT: I suppose--they show I have a ton of fandoms, since there are *30* different fandoms/subjects represented among them, and that I'm an obsessed shipper, since about half of them are ship icons (there used to be an even greater percentage, when I had more limited space and chose a shippy icon to represent each fandom). Lately I've been trying to get more reaction-oriented, "emoticons" (showing anger, confusion, excitement, happiness, etc) for use in discussions or on places like ONTD.
WHAT FANDOM DO YOU HAVE THE MOST ICONS OF: Supernatural - 11 (fitting, since it's my favorite/main fandom!)
AND THE SECOND MOST: Doctor Who - 8 (also fitting), followed closely by The Borgias - 7
WHAT SHIP DO YOU HAVE THE MOST ICONS OF: Both Cesare/Lucrezia and Doctor/Rose are tied with 5 each! (It helps that I broke down and finally purchased an extra icon package for C/L's sake, and thus was collecting more icons when I began obsessing with them--and with Doctor/Rose there are 3 different Doctor incarnations I wanted icons of...;)).
ARE YOUR ICONS MADE MOSTLY BY OTHER PEOPLE: Yes, all but 3 of my icons are made by others, I suck at icons and only know how to crop pictures into icon size, lol.
DO YOU MAKE ICONS: Not really, except in rare cases (like the one of my birds or of some book covers) or during the Pass-it-On Icon Challenge at merlin_land, lol.
ARE THEY ANY GOOD: No!

I also finally saw Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy last Sunday, good stuff, and so many big British actors, lol. In that respect I particularly enjoyed seeing Edith's little cameo. ;) So many movies I want to see right now though, god, like 7, IDK how I'll manage them all....
