This past Sunday night/early Monday morning I finished watching BSG for the first time, almost two weeks after I began it! I am still filled with many thoughts and feels right now that I need to express. I'm glad I finished during a 3-day weekend so that I had time to finish watching and then have a day after to ~process~ it all, and explore fandom

I have just finished rewatching the show myself (for the 4th time?), but I have the urge to start all over again. What is this show's secret?? °_°
I had some problems with season 3 and 4, but I was totally satisfied with the finale! <3 Just thinking about it makes me tear up.
And I'm so glad for your Gaius and Gaius/Six love... it doesn't seem to be the popular opinion in some quarters! *glares at BF*

Yeah, mte more or less--I recognize there were some big stretches/plot holes in terms of the way they settled Earth and such, but there was also a lot of conclusion and emotional satisfaction and beauty and feels...and it did make me tear up at parts, which doesn't happen a lot on TV!

It happens to me with very, very few shows... Buffy and BSG, I guess. I know Buffy by heart, but BSG not so much, despite the several rewatches. My memory is beyond shitty, and BSG is such a complex show that everytime I rewatch I remember the main plots, but many little things still feel new! *wants to watch again*
I'm glad to have you and Ben as allies there in this regard too! ;) It's not just on BF though...my oldest friend IRL who watched before me joked, "WE ARE NO LONGER FRIENDS" when I said he was my favorite (although she said sometimes she felt bad for him and liked him ok, but mostly disliked him or found he made her nervous), and another friend (in dead seriousness in her case) was like, "I'M SORRY BUT WE CANNOT EVER DISCUSS BSG IRL, YOU ARE A BALTAR FAN!" when she learned of my preference, because she hates him to such an "epic degree" that she said it was better to just not discuss him or it'd get ugly ( ... )

Yeah, I'm finding this is kind of true for me too...I keep thinking I want to rewatch things, but then I don't get around to it. I have barely used my TB or TVD dvds, etc. O_o And lol I used to know Buffy by heart (I could play those episode games where I could identify every one by title), but since then I've watched so much else I'm not sure...:s I'm probably due for a rewatch sometime...though I'd want to rewatch BSG first! ;) (I remember it pretty well because it's so fresh though).
Do a rewatch! :D
(And yes, this is why I have added icons, I cannot deal with only 15 icons...:s I just uploaded a Gaius solo one. :p)

I think fandom tries to collectively block that particular story from our minds.
t's amazing how Tricia Helfer is able to make them so distinct with the slightest changes in facial expression. It's crazy, because previous to BSG Tricia had only worked as a model, and so the higher ups at the network didn't want her getting that much screentime, as they thought she couldn't pull it off. BUT SHE IS PERFECT AND SHE SHOWED THEM ( ... )

Wow, seriously?! Lol, why did they hire her then? What a great story, and makes her even more impressive if she had no acting background...like Edith on DA.
It did give us the LOLtastic that was Fat!Lee, though.
Lol I didn't even find that funny, so much as just disturbing...O_o
LORD THE LOVE QUADRANGLE OF DOOM WAS MY LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT BSG. I completely agree about how they really should've focused Kara on something other than that stupid quadrangle in the wake of the mind frakkery that was her time on NC. And yeah, I pretty much ( ... )

I especially hated how Gaius and Caprica Six were used, the way they just DROPPED their relationship for no apparent reason after they were finally reunited on the same ship and out of prison (like really now, after all they've been through, neither would bother to seek the other out and talk to him/her?! *rolleyes*). I also disliked how the head visions too all but disappeared (I especially missed the chance to see a little more Head!Gauis with Caprica). The Caprica/Saul storyline was the most random, stupid, horrible and pointless thing ever, and I'm trying to repress that from my memory.
Lol, basically. The weirdness of the Saul/Six arc detracted from the season for me. Their flash backs were perfect, and I thought it was rather on point that Gaius complains and shouts at his father, but does ditch all his dates to deal with him. And it was so cute that the angels kept their form after 150,000 years as these two and walked away hand in hand.
