Such a sad story. I hardly remember the days that led up to my dad leaving us. The details you remember make it possible to picture how it all went for you. Really excellent entry and well done.

I actually do remember all those details, and much more. But I could have written my novel if I kept going! That's one of my five days that will live in infamy for my life.

I'm so glad you read and commented, Mary Beth! Thanks!

Wow, that sounds like a really heartbreaking experience. It's one thing to lose a parent to divorce, but losing siblings too, I can't imagine.

Thanks so much for your comments on my entry. I was a very typical oldest child, so being parted from my much younger brother and sister was double tragedy to me at the time, losing mom and losing them. Thankfully, once they were adults, particularly with my sister, we became very close. Though we don't talk often, I consider her one of my best friends. But I do always feel cheated out of watching her grow up!

Thank you for your response to this. i almost hate to say i'm glad for your reaction, because though I set out to write something that would grab and move people deeply, i also do feel sorry for ripping out your heart! smile. Seriously, it was a terribly sad day in my life and sharing it was also painful, so I'm very thankful to you for reading and commenting, and very glad you were moved by it.
