I'm glad to know you got there eventually. And it's good to know it sometimes happens later in life than we want it to, but still happens. (Says the pregnant, recently-married-for-the-first-time 42-yr-old.)

You have such a great attitude! I am sorry to read about the death of your father -- he was far too young, and with cancer, suffered far too much. But congratulations on the house and the friend, and the calmness. Calmness can be good after struggles.

I am glad things are going better for you now. Losing a parent when they are that young is difficult, especially if you have to watch them suffer. My mother lost her fight with cancer at 56. Personally I like not having to much excitement or struggle in my life so I understand how you feel about having things slow down.
