Thought I would post a bit about dying my hair with henna and indigo and include some pics. Feel free to ask any questions!

You're hair looks great! Is it permanent, or will it eventually wash out?

Thanks! It is permanent. They say it may fade a bit, but for the most part it will still retain the color and it won't get brassy or bronze looking.

Looks great!! I actually was starting to look into natural hair colorants and highlighting stuff recently too... MAy I ask for the "recipe" and ingredients or where you found it?

There is a great website with info on natural hair coloring using henna and indigo. It is www.hennaforhair.com. The woman who runs it also runs a sister site that you can purchase all you need from. The basics I needed was 100g indigo, 100g henna, a large bottle of lemon juice, gloves, plastic wrap (I used a shower cap), and an old towel or shirt. It cost about $15 for the henna and indigo. You have short hair, so you can get away with doing what I did and only using part of each. I will have enough indigo to color again and I still have a bit of henna left over, too.

I would suggest staying away from the henna kits since they tend to contain a lot of stuff other than henna. The indigo that I add makes the hair darker, while the henna makes it red. You can use henna only to go darker brown or even black if you don't want red.
