Hey, friends! I was on Spring Break from school this week, and I was thinking, why haven't I even looked at, not to mention posted, pictures from my travels this past year? And then I realized that up until recently, my iPhoto was busted.
But thanks to my lovely friend and co-worker
David that has all changed. He did some stuff to my computer, including getting iPhoto working again, so here I am. Thanks, David!!!
Lately I've been seeing people (i.e.,
mipplet) talk about how they are wondering if they should let their LJ die in favor of FB. Facebook is fun, but there is still a place for LJ, I think. I first heard about LJ when, for the billionth time, I tracked down my long-lost friend
rhys. She has a habit of disappearing from the Internet then reappearing in a new form. This was waaaaaaaay back in 2000, when LJ was free, Brad Fitz was in college and he had made this thing for an class assignment. By the way, Rhysie is now in one of her disappearing modes, so if anyone knows how to find her, please let me know. Anyway, so LJ is a little clunky compared to FB. I don't care. Last year when I went to Forks, WA I used the little blogging feature in FB, and it was great, but not the same- too easy. I like to work at my entries. So I think I will stick with this LJ thing.
I was just uploading the last year's photographs at my lovely friend
ashleypond's house. The best thing about the A-Bomb is she helps me keep up on all the
current music the kids are listening to- and by kids, I mean the under-10 set. Anyway, I found these pictures from the first day of my Asia trip (specifically, Seoul) that I totally forgot about:
LOVE LOCKS!!!!
Here is a link to an article explaining what these are, but to sum up, people buy a lock, write a message about someone they love, lock it onto the fence, then throw the key away to ensure their love is locked-in forever. It's so sweet!
A-Bomb, I suggest we do this, whenever we find our loves.
So now that I've got this thing up and running, I am going to backtrack a bit and add some pictures to the entries I wrote when I was in Asia. I also just got some new beachy-pictures that must be put up.
This is kind of a non-travel year for me- meaning I will probably not leave North America in the next year. But I do see some trips on the horizon, though at this point, this is a very distant horizon.
1.) Beirut, Lebanon with my good friend that grew up there
-OR-
2.) A place that will remain nameless for fear that I will get in trouble somehow
