After a conviction of rape aboard the ship, the current victim in question began her attempts to rehabilitate the felon and consequently became infatuated. They began a casual sort of relationship, until recently, when the felon attacked her for an unknown reason. She asserts that it is "her fault" and that she "deserved it", which is a classic abuse coping strategy.
