I am nearly to page 700 of my 848 page book The Crimson Petal and the White. I could have been finished by now but I am firm in my decision to put the book down at 11:00. I have been known to read recklessly into the night, glancing up finally at 3AM, and hating myself all the next day. The thing that bothers me about this book is the style has

Funny, I can't remember if the author still talked to the reader by the end, I was too lost in the book. I'm an insomniac anyway, so I tend to go on reading until I can't keep my neyes open anymore.
I'll have to check now, or I won't be able to sleep at ALL...

Right now, I've almost finished the 3rd (and last) volume of Neal Stephenson's "Baroque Cycle" (3 whoppers of over 800 pages). If you like historical fiction, I highly recommend it.
