Illness always picks the worst time to strike, doesn't it? What would have been a lovely holiday in Paris last year was ruined by sneezing, phlegm, and an inability to describe a chest infection in French. Oh, and I contracted swine flu a few days prior to my uni induction down in London. And need I remind you of the non-dairy creamer incident in Oregon.

The creamer incident! I felt horrible! My mom's been on vacation since mid-December; she saved up a combination of vacation time and furlough days and took off for three weeks or so. And she's been sick the entire time! With this same cold, I think. But it's so much worse for her, because she's had a compromised immune system ever since her stem cell transplant in '98. Plus, it caused her blood sugar levels to hover around an extra-high level. My point is, my cold shouldn't even be half as bad as hers. I have ice cream to soothe my throat and daytime television to soothe my brain.

Do you have a picture of the duvet of wonder? Has Nia wrecked it with duvet forts yet?
Send your mum some get-well-soon vibes from me, too. Is there anything from these shores she might like to cheer her up?

I'm sorry you're still feeling sick! I had a horrible bout of Angelitis last January (it was actually tonsilitis, but that sounds better) that had me in bed off and on for close to a month. Bleh! May it abandon you much sooner than that.
