who's your cell phone company? That's pretty fucked up. I know that if you lose your phone or it's stolen you have to replace your phone b/c you have to finish your contract, but the contracts that I have read didn't say in those cases you would be required to sign a new contract, but I guess I could be wrong...maybe you should "lose" it...and see what they say?

what carrier do you use? I might be able to arrange for a new telephone for fairly low cost. may not even cost you a thing. I have like 20 phones, from various carriers so let me know.

I don't understand how purchasing another phone means you have to get another contract. Usually if you pay the retail value of the phone, then you don't have to get extend your contract. Seems like that isn't what you want to do though. What exactly is wrong with it? Why did it suddenly stop working?
