Desi started being a pest around midnight, hiding under our headboard and popping her little forepaws up to attack any finger she found lurking too near the edge of the mattress

verdict?

[shesquint]

Verdict is that she's on the mend. Blood came back clean, except for the abundance of white blood cells which indicate an infection; that is, her kidneys and liver are okay (thank all the gawds). Her appetite's back. She's on an antibiotic, and goes back to have more blood work next week (the best way to test for the presence of an infection). After that, if her blood work's clean, she gets spayed and we never have to worry about this particular thing again.
