Is it wrong of me to laugh at the cat every time she misjudges the width of her e-collar and bumps it into a wall ( Read more... )

EWWWWW to your edit. Seriously. EW!

That was seriously sweet of your hubby to keep the kitty company on the floor. Awwww. :)

Yup. I believe I married him in anticipation of that moment.

Please tell me that one day, I will pay a quarter at a sideshow circus to see your cat's uterus.

And I'm glad she's doing quite well.

No, I won't be reaping any profits from the display of Desi's twisted little uterus. I didn't get to keep it; I just got to see it. I think they sent it off to a pathology lab.

Did you take a picture of it? The Uterus in the Jar? You KNOW I would've loved to see that...oh, and a pic of Nic curled around a kitteh on the floor would've been cute, too.

I wasn't alert enough to get a picture of Nic sleeping beside the kitty; I woke up around 4:00 a.m. and spotted it, then got the whole story the next morning. I didn't get a picture of the uterus in the jar, either; there's no point, really, as it's hard to see around all the various labels.

However, the nurse who was in the OR managed to get a dozen or so pictures on his iPhone. They show the whole process: her open on the operating table, the slow emergence of this thing, then the thing itself, then the thing itself sitting in a pool of pus. They're going to burn me a CD with the pictures on it. Want me to email them to you when I get them? They're pretty gross.

Will do! I'll probably also post a couple here. Behind a cut, though, so as to spare the squeamish ones.

I'm not all that squeamish, myself--truly--but the one of the uterus sitting in a pool of pus squicked me out just a little. I mean, it was nasty.

If you want to really be icked out, I can share some stories of autopsies of the decaying. Or show you a colour photo of a floater.

This small audience won't judger her any differently, I assure you ;-) and we're all just morbidly fasciniated...and Desi probably wouldn't mind since she lives to fascinate us. At least she's not in a forensic textbook...yet.
