ok seriously my cat is having some sort of break through or something. he is at the point where he'll jump up on the couch with us and snuggle, not on laps yet but next to us. he still bolts as soon as you go to stand up but he doesn't go far, generally just to the stairs. we taught him a hand gesture for petting and it really seems to work. its

I have a shy skiddish cat and he has always been jumpy. He enjoys attention and sleeps on the bed with us but doesn't like to be held and never became a lap cat. He was wild so considering that he is well adjusted.
