My parents would be concerned slightly about most of them, we've been through the car crash, they wailed with me when my summer work experience job boss said 'oh, I'd love to employ you properly, there's space' *after* I'd already paid my tuition fees, signed all flat/electrics/etc contracts for 3rd year uni, pregnancy would be blasé, apparently my entire family has known I was bi since I was a teenager...

but civil unrest? joining a thing that could get me killed?

My folks would be most scared at the idea of my being in physical danger - in the army. My mum would be thrilled with grandkids!
