Okay, so, first of all, thank you everyone for the well wishes! I am ridiculously totally over-the-moon thrilled about this whole engagement thing. Sometimes I just look at the Mister and say, "We're getting MARRIED!" and go all cheesy. Even just looking down at my ring right now makes my stomach go all gooshy. I guess I know now what people ( Read more... )

I KNOW that there will be unflattering photos because, you know, I'm human, hahaha. I think what is most important is feeling confident and good about myself, so even if I don't make my goal, I think as long as I am comfortable, it'll be great! From what I've seen in the photos, I think you guys did an AMAZING job of having a very "you" wedding without it being kitschy. I don't know if I want to have a "theme" per se, but I want personalized touches, and it looks like that's the route y'all took!

The website "a practical wedding" was awesome for ideas on how to get it personal without going overboard. The other thing that was nice a venue that was also the caterer that took care of everything for us. We just had to take care of the personal touches and they dealt with everything else. Weddings are so stressful it was nice to have less to deal with.

Ooh, thank you for that site. Like I said, I fell down the rabbit hole of Style Me Pretty and while the photos are pretty to look at, it's been hard to glean inspiration because apparently everyone wants to get married in a barn this year. And I don't. I wouldn't mind having like a hotel ballroom reception, especially since one of the ceremony ideas we've been knocking around is a little more "out there" than the typical ceremony. And I'm not uber-concerned with what kinds of linens or silverware or place settings. Just something clean & simple but interesting.
