:D
Family
“Well Minato, I better go introduce him to Inoichi’s daughter.”
“Go on.” Minato ruffled the thirteen year old boy’s hair. “See you Sasuke.”
He nodded once before he was led away to another family.
“Here we have Ino; she’s twelve, so she’s younger than you by a year.”
He disliked Christmas because of the idea of meeting the children of other families his father is friends with, because it only meant more girls gushing over him and more loud mouthed guys to deal with.
“Sasuke,” he felt his father’s hands on his shoulders. “I’d like you to meet my good friend’s daughter, Sakura.”
Reluctantly, he raised his head.
“Sakura, this is my son, Sasuke.”
He frowned when she smiled.
“Nice to meet you Sasuke.” She extended out her hand to him.
“Hn.” And he unwillingly took it.
The grin she gave only made him think of one word: Annoying.
Friendship
“So you don’t like Sakura?”
“Hn.” He climbed down the ladder after putting the gold star atop the Christmas tree.
“Why?”
“She’s annoying.”
“Aw… don’t say that!” he felt Naruto move closer, and he immediately side-stepped once to keep the distance and continue staring at the tree his mother forced him to decorate. “Sakura likes you.”
Why his face turned red, he had no idea. And it was just his luck that his best friend was a loud mouth.
“Oh my god Sasuke! You’re blushing!” he pointed an accusing finger at the fourteen year old Sasuke. “It took you a year to be attracted to her?! Wow!”
“…Idiot.”
Honestly, the only reason he was best friends with Naruto was because his father was closer with Minato than any of the other patriarchs.
…
Or so he says.
“Hey!”
“Hn. I’m not attracted to her, and how can you be so sure she’s drawn to me?”
“It’s true! I heard it from Ino herself! She said Sakura told her!”
Leave it to a loud mouthed boy to believe the words of a loud mouthed girl.
Teamwork
It’s weird how High School - also known as sweet sixteen to some - is able to do things to you and leave you with no choice.
Naruto always wondered how Sasuke got away with working solo on group projects, but the son of Namikaze Minato couldn’t help the grin on his face when he heard what his best friend told him.
“It’s a study date Sasuke.”
He glared at the younger teen before him. “No it’s not, you idiot.”
“Oh come on!” Naruto scoffed. “You were able to get away with group projects before, why stop now?” he smirked at Sasuke. “You like her, huh?”
He glared. “The main criteria of the project is teamwork, dead last.” He downed the remaining contents of his caffeine-filled beverage. “And the theme is about the yuletide season.”
“…So?”
Sasuke bit back a groan at his friend’s stupidity. “How the hell can I create a project about the season of giving if I won’t even work with someone?”
“…Oh.” Naruto’s expression turned from one of realization to something close to taunting. “So why did you pick Sakura?”
He only twitched in response.
Curse his father for enrolling him in the same year as Sakura.
…
And Naruto.
Mistletoe
He found her annoying.
From the first time he met her, from the moment he found out she had a crush on him, and when he realized that the stupid crush was bordering to like, and finally, to love.
“Che. Love.”
He glared at her smiling face, glared at those captivating green irises, glared at those plump and soft-looking lips, but more importantly…
“Come on Sasuke! It’s a holiday rule!”
He glared at the stupid ornament hovering in-between his and her heads.
Snow Angel
Ironic how he disliked the cold season of winter, when he himself was labeled as a human ice cube -
“No, wait, more like a human ice berg, that’s a better term.”
- Human ice berg.
“Head’s up!”
He did lift his head, but that caused his face to receive a very cold and wet snowball.
“Wow! You obeyed the command! You actually obeyed it!”
Now, maybe he would like nothing more than to tear that person limb from limb - but how can he?
“Sorry Sasuke, don’t be mad, please?”
Those stupid emerald eyes, that mop of long pink hair, and that oh-so enchanting smile wiped off the deadly aura he was emitting.
“There we go!” she chirped, the sound of her voice twinkling like bells on Christmas morn. “Now I can see your face.”
“Hn. More like stare.”
She just stuck her tongue out.
How the heck can he ever hurt an angel?
Hot Coco
“C-Cold.”
“Hn.” He eyed her. “I told you to stop playing out in the snow.”
“But it’s fun!!”
“…And now, you’re the one with the flu.”
She puffed her left cheek out, and he found it… cute.
“Sakura.”
She raised her head to meet his gaze, and he had to bite his tongue to not splutter out a mushy line.
“…Ch. Here.” He turned his head away while handing her a mug. “…I hope it’s sweet enough to satisfy your taste.”
Her hands shot out from underneath the blankets she used to wrap around her body. When their fingers made contact, he didn’t know if the heat he felt was from the mug itself or due to their physical touch.
“Snap out of it Uchiha.” He told himself, eyeing how she took the cup filled with hot coco and gave him a smile in return.
“Thank you.”
He lifted up one corner of his mouth to give her a smirk. “Hn.”
Sleigh Ride
“Please?”
“No.”
“Please?”
He glared. “You won’t stop until I agree, huh?”
She nodded.
“Ch. Fine.”
She immediately dragged him out of the cabin once they were done putting back their coats, gloves, and scarves on.
Sasuke wondered why his father and his friends always forced their children to go to different winter resorts and have them bond with each other. Obviously no bond has formed beyond friendship, since they are all still single despite being already seventeen - sixteen for the others.
“Hurry up!”
“You’re the one who’s excited, not me.”
She pouted, and he twitched.
“Alright already, I’m coming.”
He knew what she wanted to do, but he never really understood why she always asked him, rather, bugged him, to take her and not the others.
“Sakura.” He called while she was getting comfortable for the soon-to-come sleigh ride with him. “Why can’t you drag the others for a change?”
She smiled at him, and once again, he felt the annoyance just like the day she was first introduced to him.
“Because you’re warmer.” And to prove her point, she leaned in and wrapped her arms around his waist, beaming at the snowflakes falling at a slow pace.
“Hn. Whatever.” He kept his head turned away from her, not caring or minding at how close they were.
She was the kind of annoyance he could tolerate.
Smile
“Why are you so agitated?”
He didn’t answer.
“So what if she smiles a lot at Lee? There’s nothing wrong with that.”
“Lee is courting her.”
“…So?”
“She doesn’t like him, right?”
Naruto gave a slow nod, gesturing Sasuke to continue.
“She’s leading him on if she keeps it up.”
“Oh, well, now that you mentioned it, that’s true.” Naruto turned to their pink-haired friend and thick-browed companion. “She’s just… I don’t know, being nicer. I mean, she’s already seventeen, she should stop yelling and punching Lee just because he declares his… undying love for her.”
“Hn. I’m just saying that… she has to be careful not to give him false hopes.”
The blue-eyed blonde turned to his dark-eyed friend. “If I didn’t know you better, I’d say you’re the one who believes to be receiving false hopes.”
“What?”
“Nothing Sasuke.” He grinned and turned back to Sakura. “Then again, she always only did smile like that to you and never to anyone else, I wonder what happened.”
Naruto had to hold back a chuckle when he noticed his best friend’s fists clench.
Secret Santa
No one can see it, but his usually indifferent expression seemed rather off today.
“Thank you lovely Sakura! I shall forever treasure this joyous gift from your generous heart!”
“Um… Lee, it’s… well, I picked your name, so…”
“It must be fate!” Lee turned to Neji. “Surely it must be fate!”
“Lee, it’s… yeah, well, I’m glad you like your gift.” Sakura said with a small smile, eyes shifting from Lee to Sasuke.
Normally, that would have been just a simple gesture that she still harbors feelings for him, but he knew her more than anyone else in this room despite appearing to not care. He knew what she was feeling depending on a certain look, and that small glance she made told him that she was disappointed to not have picked his name.
“Alright! Who’s Sakura’s secret Santa?” Ino asked through the microphone, blue eyes searching the room for any sign of someone who would call their attention. “Hey! Come on! Don’t be shy! Everyone gets a gift, I made sure of it!”
One step forward was all it took for the room to be silent, and Sakura could instantly feel the heat in her cheeks when her eyes met with onyx.
“What? You’re going to say this is fate too?”
She smiled at his remark, trying to not giggle.
“Hn.” He pulled something out of his pocket. “I didn’t bother wrapping it, otherwise, you would have found out.”
Her eyes widened at the sight of a silver necklace with the pendant of a snowflake.
“Don’t ask.” He muttered, not in the mood to explain why he chose it as a gift. He moved behind her and placed the jewelry around his neck, not caring how others stared, not minding the wolf whistles from some and the cheers or gushes of the other girls present. The only thing he did take notice was Lee’s look of utter disbelief, and he couldn’t help but smirk at him in triumph.
First Time
The moment her lips touched his, all rational thoughts left his mind while his vision went hazy.
He felt how her tongue had shoved itself in his mouth, luring his own to start a fight for dominance.
Her soft skin beneath those layers of clothing ought to be exposed to his eyes, and he made sure of it when his right hand found the zipper of her coat and the buttons of her shirt. His left made its way to her gartered skirt, pulling it lower and lower until it fell off of her body. Her moans urged him to continue exploring her naked skin, while her candle-like fingers pushed off his coat and unzipped the shirt he had underneath.
“Are you back yet?”
He blinked a few times before staring at the wooden ruler on his desk.
“Well?”
He sighed and met the gaze of his History teacher. “Hn.”
“I’ll take that as a yes then.” He pulled the ruler back and turned around. “The next time I catch you daydreaming, you’ll be forced to tell the whole class what’s going on in your head.”
He flinched - no way would he reveal one of his deepest and darkest secret - “Desire, would be a better term.” - to anyone.
Sasuke stole a glance at the pink-haired girl who has been invading his dreams lately, seeing her focused on doing the seatwork the teacher gave them.
“How can you do so much to me without trying?” he furrowed his brows and turned away. The moment he shut his eyes in an attempt to relax, he wished he hadn’t - because the images of his body and Sakura’s being so close together and rubbing against each other with a snowstorm occurring outside instantly invaded his thoughts. “Why did we have to be so intoxicated at that time?”
He then glared down at his pants, seeing the effect of his constant wet daydreaming. “Ch. How the heck am I supposed to get rid of you?”
Well, if ever Santa would ask him what he wants this year, he’d want a repeat of his first time with Sakura a week ago.
…
Like hell he’d get that. She won’t even talk to him, much less glance at him.
Argument
“I’m sick and tired of this charade Sakura.”
She continued to pretend as if he wasn’t there.
“Stop ignoring me.”
She just proceeded to read her book.
“Damn it Sakura!” he tore the book away from her hands and pinned her down on her bed. His glare met her surprised ones, and he could see what she felt through her eyes. She missed gazing into his dark orbs, she missed talking to him, and she missed smiling at him. “Stop avoiding me.”
She forced herself to look away.
“Keep your eyes on me.” He snapped. “Don’t look anywhere else Sakura.”
“Get off…” she murmured, not obeying him. “I… I hate you.”
That made his chest hurt, made his heart clench - and hell, now he knew why he found her so annoying.
“How could you..?” she asked with tears in her eyes. “You took advantage of me…”
“I did not take advantage of you Sakura!” he argued. “You kissed me without warning! You didn’t stop and I…” he trailed off, knowing for a fact that he was at fault as well. “…Never mind.” And he let her go and left her room, left her house, left her alone.
Gift
She stared at the small box on her hands, eyeing how white the box was and how the blue silky ribbon just kept reminding her of someone.
Funny, the box came from that certain someone too.
“To open or not to open..?” she asked herself while falling onto her bed. “Actually, how did he even get in here?!” she flushed at the idea that he was here while she was asleep, or perhaps taking a shower. But then, it could also mean that he came by and asked a maid to leave it in her room. “Knowing that guy, I doubt it.” She snorted.
Her phone made a buzzing sound from the side table of her bed, and she quickly used that as an excuse to postpone opening the gift she got from Sasuke.
She flipped open the mobile phone and read the message she received. “Oh crap.” She looked at the box, and then back at the message she got from the same person who sent her the small parcel.
It’s to match the necklace you have.
Just to be sure, she checked the object inside the box and saw two earrings at the shape of snowflakes and the color of silver. But what caught her eyes was the piece of paper with one word that meant so much to her, written in a familiar handwriting of fine calligraphy.
Sorry.
“Leave it to Sasuke to not apologize in person.” She smiled and put on the earrings.
First Kiss
“These earrings are an apology gift, Uchiha. They’re not for Christmas.”
“What’s two days?” he shrugged. “I didn’t think you’d open the box so soon.”
“The note says SORRY. It didn’t say MERRY CHRISTMAS. So duh!” she turned around and crossed her arms. “I even got you what you wanted.”
“I already said thanks for giving me the Master Grade Strike Freedom.”
“And you didn’t get me anything.”
“Sure I did.” He muttered, taking something out of his pocket. “I just didn’t want anyone else to see what I gave you.”
Her eyes widened at the box of the same color as the one her earrings were in two days ago.
“Are you going to stare at it or find out what’s inside?”
She took it and quickly pulled off the ribbon and the lid of the box. Her reaction was a gasp, and then, she stared at Sasuke.
His eyes narrowed at the all too familiar gleam in her eyes. “No, I am not proposing.”
“But it’s a ring!” she eyed the silver ring with an engraved pattern of a snowflake studded with small sapphire stones. “Well, it’s a friendship ring..?”
“No.” he sighed and lowered his head, being a foot taller than the petite girl. “It’s a ring of commitment.”
Her cheeks instantly turned red.
“Hn.” He looked away when his face turned a light shade of pink. “When I first met you, I dismissed the attraction I felt as annoyance. When you smile that same grin I witnessed years ago, I thought it was annoying, but in all honesty…” he lowered his head to hide his eyes from view. “I… like…” he swallowed. “Screw this.” And he grabbed her shoulders to pull her in for a kiss - the kiss he didn’t give when they were under the mistletoe years ago.
“S-Sasu…ke?”
He forced himself to keep his gaze on her despite how red both their faces were. “Consider that as our first kiss - our first real kiss.” He paused before adding: “As a couple, that is.”
She smiled. “Can’t you say I love you like a normal person?”
“Don’t push your luck Sakura.”
