Title: Hello
Pairing: Katori Shingo/Inagaki Goro
A/N: Been wanting to revise and edit this five months ago so I just changed the date from to July to the date now. I also decided to make this as a late birthday fic for Goro and a birthday fic for dancing_donut. Happy birthday! should I have a shingoro icon now?

It was one fine night and with nothing to do (actually he was just being lazy to cook), Goro decided to go out and eat in a well-known restaurant he used to frequent before. He hadn’t been there for months because of his busy schedule so he felt ecstatic right now. He was thinking of skipping literally to the restaurant as he thought of happy things. That almost made him laughed out loud.

Finally, he arrived at the restaurant. He was guided into an empty seat and was given a menu. Even though he already knew what he was going to order, he still read the menu to see if they have a new selection of wine.

He thought this night will never go wrong. He will have a leisure dinner with his favorite wine and then maybe he could go eat some dessert and…suddenly a tap on his shoulder surprised him and pulled him from his imaginary perfect world. He turned and dreaded the moment he and that person's eyes met.

Katori Shingo, his least favorite friend was grinning down at him then he walked and sat down on the opposite chair.

“Hello, Goro. I am surprised to see you here.” Shingo said with a suspicious grin.

Goro just nodded at him. “Yeah.”

While Shingo was looking at the menu, Goro’s order finally arrived. Shingo gave it a look which he dismissed and he started eating his dinner trying to ignore the guy in front of him.

A while later, Shingo’s food arrived and he was surprised to see that it was the same food he ordered. He was distracting himself by minding his own food so he might have not heard what the latter ordered. Shingo started eating then he gave some not so nice comments about it like it was too bland for his taste.

Goro felt the annoyance rising in him and was turning to anger but he tried his best to calm himself down. He didn’t say anything and he just continued eating. Shingo was silent for a while too until he drank the wine.

“What is this? You drink this thing? It doesn’t even taste nice.” Shingo’s face was in a grimace and his tone is full of disgust and mockery.

Goro couldn’t take it anymore. He dropped his fork and knife to call the waiter for the bill and then he glared at Shingo before storming out of the restaurant to go back to his place.

How dare he ruin my night? He thought to himself as he slammed the door close. Still fuming, he went to his sofa and sat there. He put his hands on his face and inhaled sharply. Damn him.

It took him a while to calm down. He suddenly felt tired and he decided that he should call this an early night and get ready to sleep. He was about to go to his bathroom when he heard his doorbell ringing. He wondered who it could be. He looked at his clock and it’s already too late to have someone
He cautiously opened his door and he was greeted by a smiling Shingo who was holding a plastic bag on one hand.

“Hello.” Shingo greeted him.

Goro was ready to slam the door to his face but Shingo was fast and strong so he was able to stop the door from closing.

“What do you want?” Goro shouted at the man.

“I’m sorry, okay? I was just joking with you.”

He continued glaring at him. “That’s not a funny joke.” He hissed.

“That’s why I bought you food. I’m really sorry. Aren’t you going to let me in? It’s so cold here.” Shingo sneezed and as an emphasis, he hugged himself.

Goro raised an eyebrow but something tugged his heart so he opened his door wider and a happy Shingo went in. He started arranging the food on the coffee table near the sofa.

“I’m going to take a shower.” Goro declared and he left the busy man who just said an ‘okay’.

While in the shower, Goro took several deep breaths. He’s not angry anymore but his heart is beating so fast. So fast that he felt so dizzy and it’s because of Shingo outside. He was startled when he heard a knock on his bathroom door.

“Goro, do you need anything?” Shingo’s voice boomed from outside.

“No! I’m fine!” he shouted back.

Shingo didn’t say anything anymore and he guessed he went back to the living room. He stayed in the shower for a while and he donned a bathrobe before going to the living room.

He was greeted by the younger man’s bright smile. The coffee table was full of various foods. There’s even a cupcake in the middle “Dig in.”

Goro said a ‘thank you for the meal’ before taking a bite on the nearest delicacy near him.

“Delicious.” He couldn’t help himself from smiling as he looked at Shingo and Shingo smiled back and he felt a warm feeling in his chest.

They ate in silence, an unusual comfortable silence until the clock strikes 12 midnight.

“Ah, it’s already so late. Aren’t you going home yet?” Goro asked Shingo.

But Shingo is busy fumbling on something from his pocket. He stared in astonishment when he realized what it was.

Shingo put the little blue candle on the cupcake and he lit it up with a lighter and looking warmly at him, he uttered a “Happy birthday, Goro.”

“T-Thanks.” Goro stuttered.

Shingo moved his hand and before he knew it, Shingo was already pinching his nose.

“Ouch! What the hell, that hurts!” Goro hollered at him but Shingo just laughed out so loud.

“Your nose is so cute.” Shingo told him, wiping his eyes from laughing so much. “I’ve been wanting to do that.”

Goro was about to retort but he was silenced by Shingo’s quick kiss on his nose then a lingering kiss on his lips.
