Title: Such an Adventure
Pairings: Katori Shingo/Kusanagi Tsuyoshi/Inagaki Goro
Note: I dreamed about this and it was so vivid that I couldn't help but write a story about it. This is kinda messy so sorry about that. orz

It’s just a dream.

Shingo had been convincing himself for almost an hour now. He tried pinching himself, slapping his cheeks and also slamming his head, though not so hard, on the wall but he still couldn’t leave this dream world. He didn’t want to believe that everything is real as he looked on the small bundle on his sofa.

A while ago, he woke up in his dark room. It took him a while to realize that the power went out. He and Tsuyopon were having a nice drink when he suddenly felt drowsy. He didn’t even remember falling asleep.  The electricity returned a few minutes after he woke up. He was expecting to see Tsuyopon beside him but he was surprised when he saw that the space in front of him was empty. He looked around and that’s when he saw a small bundle in the sofa bed under the blanket.

He thought it was just a throw pillow under the blanket and that Tsuyopon went into the comfort room but it was too big to become a throw pillow so he pulled the blanket to see what’s under it and wonder, shock and disbelief slammed his whole being.

He saw a small child, maybe four to five years old, sleeping there while wearing Tsuyopon’s clothes. The child appeared smaller because Tsuyoshi’s clothes are too big for him. His first thought was “Whose child is this?” And the next was “Tsuyopon?” No, this couldn’t be Tsuyopon. How could it be possible? Then he felt anger as he realized Tsuyoshi might be pulling a prank on him but he was shocked again when the child moved and he finally saw his face clearly. It looked like Tsuyopon.

He tried reasoning to himself that this might be Tsuyopon’s hidden child. He tried searching every corner of his place but there’s no Tsuyopon. Ah, his mind felt like exploding. He stopped from pacing back and forth when he’s finally convinced something was really wrong.

He took his cell phone and speed dialed Goro. He needed to do it again because Goro didn’t answer the first time.

“Shingo? It’s already midnight, why the hell are you calling me this late?” The irritation in his voice was obvious.

He cut his whining quickly. “Goro… I need your help.”

“Can I pet the mama cat and the baby cat?”

Tsuyoshi’s small voice pierced through the strained silence as he and the two bigger guys, Goro and Shingo walked with him.

“No.” Shingo answered.

“Please, please, please?” Tsuyoshi pleaded as he tugged Shingo’s jacket.

Shingo turned to Goro with a ‘help me’ look and Goro merely laughed before turning to Tsuyoshi. “Okay, just be careful. They might bite you.”

“Yay!” Tsuyoshi ran to the corner of the sidewalk and he started petting the two cats. Shingo looked irritated but he still took a good look on him so he would know if ever the cats will suddenly attack him. Goro looked at him with a grin.
“You obviously still care for him.”

Shingo exhaled loudly. “Of course, I care. It’s just that I’m still confused about what’s happening. How did Tsuyopon turn into a small kid?”

After Goro arrived in Shingo’s place earlier, the kid had woken up and started crying. Goro was able to make him stop after he gave him some treats from Shingo’s refrigerator. They asked him his name and he told them his name is Tsuyoshi. When Shingo insisted that he’s lying, the kid started crying again. It took them a long time before he calmed down this time.

Goro told Shingo that the kid named Tsuyoshi was afraid and confused himself so they should be more patient when dealing with him. That night, Goro and mini Tsuyoshi fell asleep on Shingo’s bed. Shingo couldn’t sleep so he just stared at the two as he tried to make sense of what’s happening.

When morning came, Shingo went out to buy small clothes that will fit mini Tsuyoshi. Goro had already put the boy in the bath tub when he arrived. Goro also informed him that Tsuyoshi had already eaten his breakfast. They tried asking him some details again and he was able to provide small details about himself like where he was born and who are his parents but he couldn’t remember anything that happened before this day.

They decided to stay in the house and try to figure out more about what happened but the kid wanted to go out and when Shingo said no, the boy didn’t stop asking until he said yes and so here they are walking around the neighborhood praying no one from the media will see them with the mini Tsuyoshi.

“Can we go to the zoo?”

Shingo’s thoughts were cut short by mini Tsuyoshi’s voice. He looked down and saw the eagerness on his face.

“No, we can’t go to the zoo.”

Tsuyoshi’s smile instantly turned into a pout and Shingo thought it made him look cuter. Tsuyoshi turned to Goro and he asked with pleading eyes. “Please, let’s go to the zoo.”

“Well, maybe we can?” Goro said as he looked at Shingo.

“No, we can’t! There are a lot of people there for sure!” Shingo retaliated.

Tsuyoshi’s lips quivered and the two men noticed it.

“Come on, it’s the weekdays and it’s still early so for sure there would be less people if we go now.”

Shingo sighed. “Fine, let’s go to the zoo.”

Mini Tsuyoshi jumped for joy then he hugged Shingo and Goro. The two men couldn’t help but smile at the boy’s excitement.
They arrived at the zoo an hour later. Shingo carried Tsuyoshi when he requested that he went to get the ticket from the ticket lady himself. He said a joyful thank you and when he put him down, he held his and Goro’s hands as they walked to view the animals inside.

Shingo was feeling a little nervous but he relaxed a bit when he saw Goro telling something about the animals in the cages and Tsuyoshi seemed so interested on what he was saying. They took a break from walking around the zoo when lunch time came. Tsuyoshi asked for a hamburger while he and Goro ordered

“Eat it on your own.” Shingo told Tsuyoshi as he put the hamburger in front of him.

“Stop being mean to him.” Goro scolded him as he cut Tsuyoshi’s burger in a quarter.

Tsuyoshi was pouting again after he ate a piece of the burger. “Shingo is such a meanie.”

“Yes, he is. He’s such a brat.” Goro told him as he wiped mustard from the corner of Tsuyoshi’s lips.

“Hey!” Shingo looked at Goro and Goro just grinned at him.

They continued their tour of the zoo afterwards. Shingo lifted mini Tsuyoshi on his shoulders when the crowd started to grow. Goro just stood beside him as they trudged their way around. It was two hours before the closing hour when they decided to go home.

Tsuyoshi was already sleeping in Shingo’s arms when they get in Shingo’s car. Goro offered to drive so Tsuyoshi won’t be roused from sleep.

“Today was really fun.” Goro commented as he focused his eyes on the road.

“Yes, it was.” Shingo admitted with a smile. He looked at mini Tsuyoshi’s sleeping form and something warm filled his heart. He looked so fragile yet full of energy when he’s awake. He wondered if Tsuyoshi was like this when he was a child.

“I wonder what will happen if Tsuyoshi didn’t return to his original state?”

Shingo looked at Goro’s serious face. “I wonder about that too. I can’t do anything but try to take care of him.”

Yes, he wanted to take care of mini Tsuyoshi. He was his best friend after all. He stroked Tsuyoshi’s hair and he could smell his shampoo that Goro used when he bathed him.

“You will help me right?” he asked Goro.

Goro smiled. “Of course. We should tell the others too and I know they will understand.”

They arrived in Shingo’s home and Goro helped Shingo put Tsuyoshi on bed. Shingo decided that they will just share the bed so he could attend to Tsuyoshi’s needs in the middle of the night if there’s any. Goro left an hour later.

Shingo stared once again at Tsuyoshi’s sleeping face and he was sure he could see a hint of a smile forming on his small lips. He slept contently that night.

When he woke up the next morning, he felt so disoriented like something was wrong. He realized he fell asleep on his table and while wondering how that happened, he saw the grown up Tsuyoshi sleeping so soundly on the opposite side of the table.
