whats your thoughts on it? shes not alive. shes a vegetable. her higher brain functions have been gone for years. her soul is prolly in heaven, why keep her physical being alive if she is technically already dead? just let her go.

is she a vegetable? some reports suggest otherwise. I vote to let her live.

Her husband is an asshole. I hope his penis falls off. Amen.

Neurologists suggest that there is no activity in the brain. Well, it's not really a suggestion. It's actually a medical finding. ::shrug::

let her die. but i think a needle would be alot better than 2 weeks of starving...

I completely agree. Starving is no fun. They should just give her a needle... its more humane.

My thoughts on the issue is that it's inhumane to keep the poor woman alive for any longer than she wants to be. And she told her husband that she didn't want to be artificially recessitated. You have that option. Some people just dont enjoy the idea of being intubated for 15 years, pretty much just taking up space. I don't. When the mind goes... what else is there to do here? And can the soul go to where it's supposed to be (I believe in reincatination, but the majority of americans believe in heaven/hell) if the body is still technically alive down here ( ... )

It has also been stated her husband gets money for her dying. Something to consider also.

Mmm...do you really believe the husband? He has a record of DV (domestic violence). From what I know of people who commit acts like that...lies are very commonplace.

I was in a conversation at a restaurant the other day discussing this with a friend. She said she would rather die. I, I would rather live. You basically asked "What would you want if you were Terri." I know there's no way to know what she wants or would want...I would choose life and hope. Some say there is no hope. Interesting. Some say there is.

She has a right to die, BUT she has a right to live.

If she absolutely HAS to die, don't starve her to death. That's terrible.

By the way this is Rachel, I just can't sign into Livejournal for some reason...

oh, but on a side note, i agree. It would be terrible to starve her to death.. that's certainly not right.

I would also like to point out a point I read in the paper.
Convicted murderers will sit on death row for 40 years, but there is this rush to kill this woman.

I think it's awful.

Oh dear.
Your,
Rachel

i know i asked for it, but republicans need to shove life up their ass. lol. i dont think life is defined as whether your heart is beating or not, but what you are making of it while you are alive. shes being fed through a fucking tube. she hasnt had any higher brain functions for 15 years, and for those of you who are idiots, that means she hasnt felt any emotion, had any thoughts, made new ideas, etc. thats a fucking GRRRREAT life! *sarcastic* even my uber republican parents agree with me on this one, just let the poor woman go and be with God already.

Amen, my dear, amen. Who really wants to be a vegetable? Anyone who has even the slightest belief in the soul living beyond the limits of the body's lifetime has to at least acknowledge that it's better to be in a place of paradise, if that's what you believe in, or gaining wisdom than deteriorating on a bed with a tube shoved down your throat.
