That was so amazing! I'm so tense from worrying about them being caught! The cliffhanger was intense, and a random happy ending doesn't work - but I will still have to daydream one up later so I don't have to worry about them for all eternity.

I loved the way it was written - mixing the story about the progression of the 'no-relationship rules' with the sex, so that with each paragraph you feel more and more how desperate they are, and how dangerous it is. It made it obvious how much they loved each other that they were willing to risk all that.

And the idea itself was awesome. I can definitely see why politicians would make up that rule, so it was great to see a ficlet exploring the idea. It's a really dramatic and intense plot, and I'd love to see more. (I know you don't plan to, I just think it's a really worthwhile idea to write about.)

Great job, and thank you so much for giving me something to do for five minutes at work today!

Ah thank you so much for the sweet review :D I was really surprised to see that someone thought so much about this story! To be honest I didn't finish it when I first started it because I didn't think it would capture anyone's attention, but then I found it and decided to finish it. It's something I've always wondered about; how would politicians feel about nations just... having sex with each other and doing random shit? Gaaaaaaaah. ♥

I loved this! Loved it.

The continuous jumping between the progression of that stupid law and Alfred and Arthur's desperate tryst ('coupling' didn't quite cut it) and forbidden affection was an interesting style and it couldn't have been written any other way.
I'm kind of glad Lud and Feli had a happy ending (I also like how it's implied that even though Romano hates Ludwig he still wants to see Feliciano happy), but I'm desperate to know what happened to the boys. I mean, the fic works fantastic with the open ending, but I want to knooooow! *sobs* Are they put in prison? Stripped of their duties? How exactly can you punish a nation, given they heal and can't die? That's intriguing.
I'd love a sequel, but I can understand if you're perfectly happy with a oneshot, because it works fine. I think it's just that I like some sort of closure, that's it. Thank you for a great fic about such an interesting scenario. Really. :)

Also gives me another reason to hate Margaret Thatcher. Bitch. *shakes fist*

To be honest, I hadn't thought of the repercussions of being caught--especially nothing as drastic as those scenarios you came up with. I don't think I'll do anything more with this but if it strikes your fancy feel free to come up with your own ideas. :) Thank you for the kind words!

I guess I just have a very overactive imagination. XD Or I've watched too much V for Vendetta...
Again, thank you for the fic. ^^

This was fantastic. I love fanfics that explore the real-world implications of nations existing, especially the sanctions that would certainly be imposed on personifications. I always wondered why the countries apparently have so much freedom.

This whole story gave me mad 1984 vibes, probably due to Alfred and Arthur's side of the story, and having their secret room smashed in at the last moment. I also like the way Ludwig and Feliciano have this sort of mythical quality attached to them once they escape; I imagine that the rumors of them inspired the other nations to have hope for the future of their affairs.

Additionally, I must confess that I squealed WHAT BADASSES when it's revealed that Germany and Italy are living happily in Ontario, Canada. I adore them.

This review is far from coherent, but I'm going to sign off with the statement that this is one of the most interesting Hetalia stories that I've encountered in awhile and is going to stay with me for at least the rest of the day.

I'm glad it struck such a chord! I feel like there is so much more potential for fan fiction and further analysis into a world where entire nations exist as people in the world of Hetalia but it's mostly shipping and things but... whatever hahaa. I had another fic that became forever trapped in development Hell that ended with Feli and Ludi escaping to Canada to live out their lives together (apparently there is a high number of German and Italian immigrants in Canada?!?!) and yeah.

I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, I really am! Makes me want to write more :D

A very intriguing idea and execution! I like the flashbacky style. :) My interpretation of the ending is that really, what can the humans do?

It's funny, though, I do feel sorry for Germany and Italy, because to have to fully deny one entire side of their being -- in this case, the nation side -- must be torture for them. One side or the other isn't really enough, I wouldn't think.

Thanks for sharing!
