Hmmmm. This time GanGan only bothered to post the top 26 characters, unlike last time when they printed results for the top 34 characters. But oh well. Scans are behind the cut!

It still surprises me that one shot character Hero managed to get on the list. I wonder what the Japanese fanbase sees in him it's cause he looks like a punk version of Tamaki Suoh, isn't it.

I KNOW RIGHT?! I rolled my eyes so hard when I saw that they nearly fell out of my head.

The thing is I'm one hundred percent certain that the gross Kim-butt fanservice ISN'T the reason why she ranked so high in the character poll. Her comment even says "So after it was revealed that I was a witch, my popularity shot straight up... Maybe I should have come out of the closet earlier?" And then whoever put these pages together picks the single most awful panel to represent Kim that they possibly could pick, rather than picking a panel representative of her best moments in the story - you know, like the panels that EVERYBODY ELSE GOT. It's like, wow, way to respect what everybody actually likes about this character. Not.

I'm sort of surprised that they didn't use all of those AWESOME-YEAH-PATTY-KICKS-BUTT panels from chapters *whichever* for Patty's background shot. Kinda weird.

I think the top three got pretty great shots! And my fangirl instincts are kicking in seeing Soul and Maka right next to each other on the rankings~

Ah, that's true, okay. I would still think that it'd make more sense to use one of those panels in the background as the "Patti's Highlights" part, but still. (And her reaction image is pretty good anyway~)

Thank you so much for sharing these scans! I'm disappointed to see that Liz and Patty have both fallen in popularity ranks (ugh, but Ohkubo hasn't really given them a chance to shine! I'm still seething over them being slighted in the Salvage Arc). But, I love the fact that Liz is deflecting her disappointment in her rank by being happy for Patty! <3 She's so sweet and cheerful. And Patty too, she's happy for Kid being first! This, of course, assuming I'm reading it right; my Japanese is still very rough, and I'm trying to practice reading it with little assistance of dictionaries. Speaking of which, I'm not sure if I'm reading Liz's reaction to Kid's rank right. The first sentence is something like "As usual, Kid is popular with women" I think. But I'm confused by the どんな風に in the second sentence, and I'm assuming it's because it's part of a Japanese figure of speech or idiomatic phrase? Is she saying something like "I wonder if they have seen him change a bit in the wind/over time

Yeah, that's not literally talking about wind. 風 = how. That's a bit of an oversimplification, but you get the gist. Liz is talking about the way that Kid must look to everyone given his reaction on the bottom of the page.

"Kid is changing bit by bit, but I wonder how he looks to everyone now?"
