There’s something a little awkward about the way they approach each other every time, even after this long. Subaru smiles shyly before he presses his lips to Ryo’s. Ryo mumbles an apology when Subaru flinches at Ryo’s cold hands going under his shirt. They hold themselves back, swallowing the sounds they want to make. They hesitate to move forward.

But once they do, the awkwardness melts away in an instant. They shed their clothes quickly, hands roaming anywhere, everywhere, until Ryo pushes Subaru back onto the bed. Time freezes like that, just for a moment, with Subaru sprawled naked on the bed and Ryo looking down at him with a strange sort of smile like he can’t quite believe this is real, but then Subaru says, “Come on,” and the trance is broken
