Happy Labor Day!

Hey ladies.  Hope everyone is having a lovely holiday off!

I am enjoying my relaxing morning before heading off to my dad's house for a get-together.  Kind of wish I could just hang at home today and relax, but I would feel guilty not visiting with him and my family.  It will be good for me to get out anyways.  It is a beautiful day here in Maine!

Not much new here.

Still working on my health & fitness like crazy.  I have lost a total of 13.5 pounds so far.  I have about 6 pounds left to go to get to my first goal of 140#.  (I truely would like to be around 135# to give myself a little leeway for vacations and holidays).  I am up to about 24 miles per week.  It is hard to fit the running in before going to work in the mornings, but I do my best.

I'm feeling great so far!  With the exception of my feet.  I got new Asics last week.  GT-2130's, which are the upgraded version of the GT 2120's (that they discontinued).  Well, I've only worn these for 1 week and I have a blister on my right big toe (on the shoe side of it) that I have never experienced before (even when I used to run 10K races).  I hate it when Asics changes their model specs.  Drives me freakin' nuts.  I have a very narrow heel and need a supportive motion control sneaker for my over-pronation.  I wear my orthodics in them too.  I've always loved how Asics has fit to my foot.  What gets me is spending $95 on a pair of sneakers that give me trouble.  I wonder if Olympia Sports will take them back now that I have had my stinky sweaty feet in them.

Onto other excitement (my life is just full of it ... HA!)...

Joe & I have booked a hotel for our 4th anniversary Boston trip, which is only 3 weeks away.  Luckily we didn't have to book a prepay rate because we may need to change plans depending on what is going on at Joe's workplace.  He is running bare minimum for staffing, so if anything happens with his other staff (there are a few issues right now to be resolved), we may have to postpone the trip.  That would suck a duck.  Anyways, I will think positively.

We booked the Hyatt Place in Medford, MA.  It is about 5 miles outside of Boston.  They have a free shuttle that will take us to the T station.  It received very good reviews and I am in hopes that we love it.  They even have Sealy Posturepedic mattresses and 42" flat panel TV's.  Sounds like comfort to me! :)  We will be staying there for 3 nights.

Now, if we could just find cheap Redsox tickets!  Even on craigslist, they are going for $40 each for bleacher seats! YUCK!  I've got a bunch of options through Stubhub but the ones I want are about $150 each.  Not sure if Joe will want to spend that much.

We are going to probably go on the Duck Boat Tour, and go to the Aquarium.  I want to spend at least a day shopping (aka. browsing) at Quincy Market/Fanuel Hall and maybe Copley Plaza.  And, hoping to find some good eats too!  If anyone has good restaurant recommendations (remember we are Vegetarian) in the Boston area, would love to get some advice!

Okay, that's about all I have to chat about for now.  I will leave you all with some pictures I took last month of my boys and Papi's birthday....

Papi looks less than impressed in his birthday hat....

Papi's Birthday Treats....   MMMmmmmmm! :)
