I know, right?!?! I still can't fathom what might have happened. That is the ONE thing that I am scared sh*tless about... house fires. When I was about 10 years old, my grandparents house burned down in the middle of the night and I remember waking up to the phone calls and commotion that night. When I was a kid, I used to worry about the Christmas tree burning the house down and that I didn't have a ladder to get out of my bedroom.
Ever since then, I am freeked about any "hot" smells.

I have to thank my really really powerful sense of smell. Sometimes, I think I am a cat or dog because my sense of smell is so strong. One time, DH lit the BBQ grill (back when we rented a condo) and about 10 minutes later, I smelled an awful burning smell. Wouldn't you know that the whole grill was on fire and even the propane tank hose was melted! Crazy! DH has a horrible sense of smell and would NEVER have noticed that smell yesterday!

Oh, I know! I guess I can thank my laziness yesterday morning for saving my house! Laundry vs. Shower? It was much less energy to put laundry in the wash. Ha!
