Wow, now I feel really silly in my "lab rat" costume here at work (cunningly put together out of a lab coat and some face paint). The photos are beautiful and your dryad costume knocked my socks off (last years pictures were great too).
armor... lessee... i skinned a couple fallen birches for the material, and peeled off the back few layers to make it cleaner and more flexible. the patterns for the pauldrons were made by lifting tape patterns off of shgb's leather pauldrons. the hip plates use the same basic design- i just played with enlarging and tweaking the pattern until i got the right size. after cutting the pattern pieces out of the bark, i covered the backs with duct tape to make it a stronger and less brittle. the pieces are held together with brass fasteners (the office supply type). i used 1" strapping and black plastic buckles to hold everything together. the corset is a standard cloth one underneath. i glued bark pieces onto it directly, and filled in the gaps between the pieces with moss, giving it a piping effect. i used twigs and real leaves dipped in paraffin wax as decorative details elsewhere.
