Largely my opinion of Tsubasa Chronicle's first episode matches up with yours, but I took more note of the background music ... and am, so far, utterly in love with the soundtrack - major shades of .hack//SIGN's soundtrack (which I also love), especially in the choral pieces. As soon as CD Japan announces a release date for the TC OST, I'm pre-ordering it.
after watching CCS for so long, it's kinda hard to suddenly switch to a COMPLETELY different cast for them (it kinda makes me wonder about the other CLAMP characters that have had a previous onscreen showing of sorts like the X cast) but like you said, nothing seems HORRIBLY out of place. Touya and Yukito still sound ghey for one another, Sakura is still cute, considering that Shaoran's personality is a bit different in Tsubasa, i think the softer voices matches. and *DROOL* @ Yuuko's seiyuu...this is mostly because i loved her as Layla Hamilton from Kaleido Star but still *DROOL*. makes me wish they were doing an XXX-holic anime at the same time almost. as for the music, yeah the op doesn't really blow my proverbial skirt up (because let's face it, i don't own a skirt) but more Maaya and Kajiura Yuki is always good so i am happy.
as for fansubbers, you can bet a lot of US groups will fight over it but should it be licensed very quickly, we can always count on the aussie groups as well. XD
I like Shaoran, since he's not in 'I'm a little bitch' mode. Touya and Yukito... c'mon-! Touya uses the same 'osananajimi?' line that Sakura uses on Shaoran, and we -all- know that 'osananajimi' really means 'i want j00'. So yeah, they're hot for each other. Which almost makes me sad, but maybe it'll keep the yaoifans off of Shaoran and let him and Sakura live in peace.
Probably there'll be no relief for Fai and Kurogane; I expect they'll be the sluts who get matched up with everyone and anyone. >_>

NOTE: I was discussing Tsubasa with a friend last night and came to the realization that Tomoyo's pretty fuckin' scary in this one; that little grin she gets after she says 'well, I guess there's only one thing left to do' (basically) is like *shiver*
it's all that lesbian desire repression i tell ya... XD nah, i figure that's ALWAYS kinda been part of Tomoyo's personality, you just didn't get to see much of it in CCS because they were loli-years-old. now that she's a bit older AND still an ojousama...
LOL I bet Souma services Tomoyo-himesama when she needs it. Wait, that's the doujin, sorry. :) I haven't seen much of CCS (maybe 20 eps or so all told) so I don't really know a -ton- about the characters, as such...
