Evenin'.

Great chapter. Like how Ennis wanted a real bed for their first night of their life together, and how Jack remembered it was almost Christmas. A bit of a cross-over scene from "Jarhead"; nice touch.

But, Oh, Oh. How did Randall keep his job? And how did he get away with what he tried to do to Jack? And that damn word!? Need an update quick!

I thought Randall was in jail? Didn't they arrest him for starting the forest fire? Why in the world is he back at the Forest Service? And since when does Ennis kiss Jack outside in the open? (Yeah, I know it was in the back of a parking lot of a motel but still....).

Gee, can you tell I'm cranky?

I'm so glad to see J & E get some quality time together and that they are both thinking of their kids at Christmastime. I am so very not happy to see Randall back in the picture but I trust you to bring J & E (and me!) through this safely.

Always glad to see an update to this story. It is one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Oh, I love that Randall's back. Course I hate HIM in your story, but I adore the angst of him being there -- going after beautiful Jack, doing all he can to get in his pants and making Ennis rage with jealousy! I have faith too that - eventually - you'll get our boys thru it. As far as the disgustin wordsRandall used here, he's clearly trying to be on the offensive so any claims Jack makes of what Randall tried to do to him won't be believed by the others. Guess Randall beat the arson rap or is on bail. Anxious for more.
