Welcome to wranglers! I read all three chapters of your fic, and enjoyed it very, very much. Talk about angst! And hawt sex! And lots and lots of caring between the guyz! Lovely work. Can't wait to read more.
You are one heck of a good writer. And your story is shaping up to be one heck of a good story. Both Ennis and Jack are stronger, bolder people in your version than they were in the original. Ennis can say he loves Jack, and it's not his fault that Jack fell asleep, although that may have made him a little bolder about saying what he felt. And Jack can take the risk, can insist on more than a few stolen days in the back of nowhere. I hope Jack's gamble pays off, and I think it will, based on your assurance at the beginning of chapter 3. Good thing you put that in there. Your writing is strong enough that I was wondering what Jack was planning on doing for the next fifty years if he wasn't going to spend it pining over Ennis. You had me going there for a second. You might want to consider posting notices on brokebackslash, too, since some people check there and not here. Wouldn't want folks to miss such a good story.
Wow, wow,...WOW! What a fantastic writer you are, so very talented! Seamless transition of canon and AU! So sweet how Ennis told a sleeping Jack that he talked to him in his mind every day during their 4 year separation...heartbreaking. And oh my God that love scene in the truck was smokin' hot! So glad I found your story today, can't hardly wait for more. Arlene
I just read all three parts so far and well you really took hold of a lot of emotions and poured them out in these chapters. I was so moved by so much of your writing the feelings these two had and I think you really grasped the situation and put it out there for us. I was shocked that Jack drove away and is planning on living that sweet life with Lureen but I really don't think it will last it cannot. Yeah, he could go maybe 5 or 10 or 20 years but we all know that deep down he will always have a place in his heart for that cowboy in Riverton. All we can do is pray that someday it will happen for them both. Joe

Hard to believe that Ennis allowed Jack to take him - must have been hard for him - Jack should think on that alittle.
Hard to believe that Jack worked up the courage to tell Ennis he wouldn't be coming back - that had to hit Ennis something bad.
Wonder what Jack will do with Ennis' backpack???
If only Ennis had been able to tell Jack what he had told him that night that Jack passed out on him.
Thanks for another interesting chapter. bob
