[Athrun is lying on his bed, hands behind his head and looking up at the ceiling. He's lost in thought. Over this past month, he's lost a lot of people that he's known here. Miki, Mitsuru, Sheryl, Shinn...there's been a lot of people disappearing, and these disappearances have had some effect on Athrun. He keeps thinking

I can't say there are a whole lot of similarities between my friends, but they definitely do all compliment me! [ A laugh ] Maybe I just lack a lot of things~

Well, nobody's perfect. I've noticed the same thing with myself and my friends.

No, not at all. So it's even better to have friends who'll fill in where you may be lacking!

I'm not so good at cooking, for example, but my wife...! She makes the most delicious food.

She does, huh? I know good food, but I imagine it must be nicer to have someone you love make it.

You learn from your friends ... and your friends learn from you. If you are perfectly alike, there is no variet of color ... so being different has its wonders as well.

Yeah, it does. It may seem weird to see a soldier like me spending time with idols, but it's a group I enjoy being around.

Not just them. For you, as well. You've done more for me than anyone here.

They do. A person like me needs the kind of hope and joy that an idol excels at bringing to people.

I wouldn't say that. You've kept my head on straight on more than one occasion. Any time I was heading down a wrong path because there was something I was missing, you pointed it out to me.

Oh. Well, you're still growing, so things will keep changing for you. But there's not much room left for a guy like me to grow, so I've found a certain kind of person that I especially enjoy being with without realizing it.

I think I mostly seek out people who hold a lot of determination or are very strong in spirit.

I think everyone is attracted to a certain kind of person though. We look for people who make us grow, I believe.
