Goodness and Kindness

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this in here before but I've been working and training as part of a project called the Goodness and Kindness Project where a Jewish person a Christian person and a Muslim person visit primary schools around Australia and do activities with the children about commonality, getting along with each other (no matter what ( Read more... )

That sounds like a really great idea, Shifra! It sounds much better than the dodgey religious insruction I had in (state) primary school which involved some Christian guy jumping on tables and yelling about how stupid Aboriginals were :S

It's also really interesting that the kids imagined an accent! One of my linguistics subjects this semester is Language & Identity, that's just the stuff we've been talking about.

That's a good way to put it! 'Imagined accent'..... your subject sounds facinating. Definitely give me some insights if you have any about why/how they'd imagine an accent?

wow awesome!
I went to a catholic primary, and had at least half mouslim kids there
was strange and all, but definately learned a lot more in the schoolyard than in the classrooms, about racial differences
