Asch wasn't expecting more strange company. After his talk with Jade, he had been disturbed somewhat... and then he became angry. Since then, he'd been avoiding the Plane. He didn't want to deal with Oliver or Peony or anyone else who might prove to be an obstacle. All that mattered was seeing his plan come to fruition. If that made him no different from Van, then so be it. He knew that he was better than his former master. Asch could even set aside his grudge against his replica to get things done. But the Commandant let himself be controlled by his hatred until he sought to destroy everything around him, and that would be his downfall.
Like his quarters in Daath, Asch didn't fool around too much with his campsite, having already doused his cooking fire. He left his sleeping bag in the open since the night air was pleasantly cool so close to Chesedonia. He was technically in Malkuth territory now, but he didn't care, since trailing Dist had brought him out here.
And he couldn't sleep.
He watched the stars and the luminescent Fonbelt instead, his sword laying across his lap.
