Just a hair shy of a month since my last entry…when we last left off BJ had just proposed to me and my mother had a minor heart attack. It turned out that my mother needed to have quadruple-bypass surgery so I drove down to Louisiana to stay with her and my dad. The surgery went really well and she pulled through like a champ. My mom's minor heart attack turned into triple-bypass surgery sometime later this week, so tomorrow I'm heading home. I talked to her earlier and she's as fine as can be expected. I just want to get home to see her. I'll probably stay through the weekend and go from there ( Read more... )

Friday started off as a crappy day. I went to UT to sign up with its temporary service and had to run all over campus getting that set up. They gave me an assignment and I was supposed to start on Tuesday, but when I got home they called me and said that the department had cancelled the posting but not notified the HR department. 10:58 am and I remember that March Madness brackets close at 11 am. By the time I got to the website the brackets had already been locked.

Oh well. I end up enjoying the games more when I don't have a bracket to agonize over. But still, damn space cadet, where have you been?!
