Things I miss most about the northern hemisphere right now: WARMTH and also MOZZARELLA STICKS

May 03, 2012 22:36

Oh man, I got home so late tonight. I had all these awesome plans of Doing Things and also, y'know, updating my journal since it's been a week, oops, but basically we put away groceries and made dinner and now we're watching Revenge (oh Revenge, be more Revenge-y <3) and it's basically about to be bedtime. Chronological time is so unhelpful ( Read more... )

shenanigans, hockey, longest post ever i'm so sorry, wellington, fangirls

Oh dear, fingers crossed on the antibiotics!

It is VERY COLD over here. Traditionally ANZAC day is the day everyone in Canberra fires up their heaters, because that is usually the exact day that winter stops dithering and arrives for real. (Seriously, it goes from "getting chilly" to "where did I store that extra blanket?!" like clockwork. I suspect otherworldly forces at work.)

What I am currently up to:
- work (we are developing a new assurance framework and it is super interesting to me and I made a comment about it which was referenced a few days later as being a good one, so I am feeling very *\o/* about myself at the moment ( ... )

Thank you, bb!

Oh man, I bet. It's so weird how much colder so much of Australia is than NZ, and yet. YIKES.

Ooh, interesting. At some point I may ask delicately what you do work-wise, if you're comfortable sharing! And yay for playing field hockey, that sounds fun. Hooray the Knights! I believe some of my Melbourne friends have fallen in platonic love with your goalie, actually. :D

Having people to take to hockey with you is SO GREAT. I'm really stoked to get to take Stick with me this year! \o/

It's because we are inland and at a high-ish altitude here. But the winters are generally quite sunny at least!

Work, hrm, not too specific in a public post, but broadly I work in project management. :) How about you?
I hear our new goalie is amazing! Can't wait to go see him in action, because GOALIES ♥. It's so cruel to make us wait two weeks for the first home game of the season.

I'm like, so, do you want to come to... more than one game?, and she is like YES ALL OF THEM. :D

Mmm, that would make sense. Oh god, yeah, we're usually just soooooo rainy, I can't even.

That is very fair! I work in a lab, but with rocks. :D
I hear very good things about him! Also, this article made me lol like mad (link from jamethiel_bane) -- seriously, it reads like fanfic.

That is the BEST answer!!

... NZ has no mozzarella sticks?

Sadly no! It's just a thing we don't have, for some reason. Which is odd, because NZ is really, really into both fast food and dairy, and yet.

I find that inordinately sad for you :( When I was in Prague, they had deep-fried cheese sandwiches, which was cheese, mayo, cheese sauce and white bread. Most artery clogging yet delicious thing ever.
