Break Each Piece of Me
Sungmin shudders as the man above him tenses and releases, fingers digging into Sungmin’s hips before pulling out, leaving him trembling on the bed, eyes glazed and breathing hard. Kyuhyun strokes Sungmin’s hair before pulling his pants back on and leaving the room quietly.
Now alone, Sungmin closes his eyes and presses his cheek into the pillow, trying not to make any sound. He thinks of what just happened, the feel of Kyuhyun inside of him, the slap of skin on skin and Sungmin curls into a ball, the cum trickling out of his entrance at the movement.
It burns on his skin like betrayal and shame.
-
They three of them have dinner together and even though they’re having steak, Sungmin’s favorite, he can barely get anything down at all.
“Are you alright, Minnie?” Hangeng’s concerned voice draws him out of his daze and Sungmin nods immediately, smiling a little too brightly at his brother. “I’m fine, hyung. Just taking my time enjoying this steak.”
“Are you sure? Are you fighting with Henry?”
Sungmin shakes his head and forces out a laugh, “Of course not, hyung. Henry and I are best friends!’
His brother chuckles, “Siwon and I have been best friends for nearly ten years and heaven knows we fight like cats and dogs!”
Sungmin rolls his eyes at that comment. Fights between those two were pointless, he didn’t even know why they bothered. It wasn’t as if Siwon didn’t let Hangeng win the argument every single time.
Hangeng smiles, eyes warm as he reaches over and brushes a stray hair from Sungmin’s face, before turning back to the man next to him. Sungmin can only watch as the two of them smiled and laughed together, soft touches here and there, completely in love.
“Hey Minnie, is it okay if Kyu stays here for a couple of days? He’s doing some redecorating at his place.”
Sungmin’s stomach drops at the words and his mouth goes dry, but Hangeng is looking at him so earnestly, his smile so easy and free that any objections die in his throat. “Sure, hyung. Anything for you.”
His brother beams at him, but Sungmin’s eyes are on his brother’s boyfriend. Kyuhyun is smiling at him too, only the smile makes all the hairs on the back of Sungmin’s neck rise up.
-
The door clicks shut behind Hangeng and immediately a chill sneaks into the room. Sungmin tenses, eyes staring unseeingly at the magazine clenched in his hands and waits.
A minute. Five. Eight minutes and fourty-five seconds-
A quiet squeak of jeans on leather as the other gets up off the couch and when he reaches Sungmin, his belt had already fallen to the floor.
--
Sungmin loves his brother more than anything in the world, so when Hangeng tells him excitedly that he’s got a boyfriend, Sungmin is a little jealous at having to share, but mostly happy. A week later, Hangeng brings Cho Kyuhyun home and he smiles at Sungmin and makes polite conversation, a few jokes here and there and Sungmin likes him well enough because even then it was obvious Kyuhyun made Hangeng happy.
Kyuhyun would pop by with takeaway boxes around dinner, play games with Sungmin, hang around the kitchen whilst Hangeng cooked or else take them for a drive down to the coast or to the mountains on the weekedends.
The happiness lasts for three months and two days.
Then Hangeng leaves the two of them alone for a weekend and everything cracks.
He stills remembers it clearly- far too vividly for his liking- and Sungmin feels like throwing up each time he thinks back to that day. Kyuhyun had been tutoring him in his room and after Sungmin had finished every question, Kyuhyun had hugged him, hands sliding down his back and coming to a rest on Sungmin’s ass. Sungmin had tensed and tried to push him away, but Kyuhyun merely pushed him onto the bed and climbed on top and touched him forcefully. He whispered terrible things- about how he’ll hurt Geng; rape him and beat him or worse, marry him then cheat on him- in Sungmin’s ears if he didn’t listen, until terrified for his brother, Sungmin had stopped fighting and let Kyuhyun have his way with him.
-
He doesn’t tell anyone what happened that day, not even Henry and especially not Geng. It was too terrible. Sungmin knew that if he did, his brother would either be overwhelmed by denial that his perfect lover could do such unspeakable things to his baby brother, or else accept the awful truth and just break beyond repair.
Neither was anything Sungmin was willing to risk.
So Sungmin locks his door and runs into the shower and then spends a good hour trying to scrub himself clean, until his skin hurt almost as much as his lower back.
He keeps up a neutral expression through dinner and instead cries inside his blankets, body shaking and heart clenching so much that it was hard to breathe.
-
Sungmin had always imagined his first time to be with a serious boyfriend, after months of dating and when he feels enough trust to offer up his body.
He had wanted it to be in his boyfriend’s bedroom, at night time with candles and music, lots of kisses and loving words. Passionate, of course, but loving. Gentle and tender, love making. Not just lust, not sex.
Not wordless and rough, all pain and no feelings. Not with his brother’s boyfriend.
-
Sungmin spends most of his summer holidays at Henry’s house across town and it’s the first time he truly relaxs. Henry is escastic to have him, planning out what movies to what and what the should eat and Sungmin can’t help feel a little guilty, because as much as he loves his best friend, the main reason he’s here is simply because it’s a place where Kyuhyun cannot get to him.
Henry drops his head on Sungmin’s lap as they watch Spirited Away and simultaneously tries to shove popcorn into his mouth. Some spill onto Sungmin’s lap and he picks it up and pops it into his mouth with a smile.
-
His summer of freedom is not without consequence and the first chance that they are alone, Kyuhyun shoves Sungmin onto the bed and pulls off his pants impatiently.
Despite forcing himself on Sungmin, Kyuhyun is not always rough, but today he is, two fingers pushing inside Sungmin raw. When he speaks, Kyuhyun’s voice is low and rough, “You think you can just hide away did you? You think your little friend can save you from me?”
Sungmin is gasping at the harsh intrusion and he can only gasp and shake his head as Kyuhyun pushes in another finger. “N-no…please…I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to-”
Kyuhyun jerks his fingers in and out of him a few times, before twisting them and making Sungmin cry out. “Oh you meant it, or else you wouldn’t have done it. Now maybe next time I’m fucking your brother, I’ll accidentally make him bleed, how about that?”
Sungmin’s eyes widen in horror, “No! Please, don’t hurt hyung, you promised-”
Kyuhyun’s voice was hard and flat. “I promised that I wouldn’t hurt him if you were a good little boy. But I don’t think you are, so Minnie, how should I punish this disobedience? Should I tie Geng up and stick a huge dildo up his ass and make him scre-”
“M-me. Punish me.” The words come out a whisper and Sungmin shivers as he sees Kyuhyun’s eyes brighten. “Oh really, Minnie? You don’t have to if you don’t want to. I could easily just go find Geng and-”
“No. Anything you have to do, you do it to me. Leave my brother alone.”
Slowly, Kyuhyun’s lips spread in a humorless smile and he yanks his hand out and reaches into the drawer, pulling out a large bottle of lube and coats his fingers with a chuckle. “Alright then, Minnie. Don’t scream too loud. Just remember, you asked for it.”
And with that he plunged four fingers into the knuckles between Sungmin’s legs and despite the warning, Sungmin screams.
-
It’s been nearly twelve months and it still doesn’t get any easier. Sure it doesn’t hurt as much as long as Kyuhyun isn’t particular rough and it takes much less time to compose himself afterwards, but that sick, heavy feeling still claws at Sungmin’s stomach each time, as if he had consumed tar or lard and it swooshed every few minutes.
Kyuhyun slowly breaks Sungmin, not just physically, but mentally. The older man is shattering his innocence, taking away all that is good and pure and infecting it with lies and greed and twisted thoughts.
Exactly a year after they started dating, on the night of their anniversary, Kyuhyun ties Sungmin up and gags him, locks him in the wardrobe in Hangeng’s room. Sungmin figets uncomfortably, legs cramped and arms behind his back, uncertain of what Kyuhyun had planned and trying to calm his breathing, because there wasn’t much air inside the enclosed space.
It’s hours before Kyuhyun comes back and Sungmin’s heart goes cold when he sees his brother close behind. They kiss and something heavy is squeezing itself around Sungmin’s chest because Kyuhyun’s never once kissed him like that, all soft and slow, as if he’s savoring every moment. A few more kisses later and it’s apparent what’s going to happen and Sungmin closes his eyes, because this was his brother and he really had no right to even be here, let alone watch something so intimate. The noises get to him though, the intense moans and the occasional whimper, slide of skin on skin and the creak of the bed. Sungmin peaks out and his breath catches at the sight of his brother gagged and handcuffed to the bed, Kyuhyun bent over the older man, mouth and fingers working Hangeng into a squirming mess.
For a moment, Sungmin’s terrified, the fear raw and bitter on his tongue, because Hangeng was so hopelessly trusting, so completely vulnerable; if Kyuhyun wanted to, it was so very easy for him to break Hangeng. But then something else replaces the fear, something so unspeakable that Sungmin refuses to acknowledge it. Kyuhyun’s thrusting into Hangeng, but there’s a tenderness in his movements even among the passion; a softness in every action that makes each of his own encounters with Kyuhyun seem even more worthless.
Hangeng has his legs over Kyuhyun’s shoulders, head thrown back and Kyuhyun’s mouth fixed at his throat, hands roaming up and down Hangeng’s thighs and hips. The gag is pulled off and Hangeng arches off the bed with a cry, yanking at his restraints. It takes one word from Hangeng for Kyuhyun to quickly undo the handcuffs, trailing kisses on the reddened skin and in that moment Sungmin understands something that sends chills down his back.
Kyuhyun loves his brother. Completely and genuinely. Even in this position, it’s Hangeng who holds the power in the relationship, Kyuhyun hanging onto Hangeng’s every look and reaction. All the threats, they were worth less than nothing, Sungmin knew that now, because Kyuhyun would rather hurt himself than hurt Hangeng.
Sungmin cries into his arm to muffle the sound, telling himself that all this desperation and hurt was from being lied to. He tries to ignore the clench of his heart. He tries not to listen to the sounds of Kyuhyun’s grunts or the way he’s whispering Hangeng’s name.
He especially tries to ignore the hardness between his legs and the fact that he’s pretending it’s his own name that Kyuhyun’s gasping out.
-
Kyuhyun gets more and more creative and slowly he’s taking over Sungmin’s thoughts, evading the space in his mind as well as his body; leaving its stains everywhere he looks. The kitchen sink, the bathtub, the couch, the desk, the cupboard, the carpet in the doorway. There was nowhere he can turn without being reminded of exposed skin and a hard cock up his ass or down his throat.
Kyuhyun bending him over a table, Kyuhyun shoving him up against the shower screen, Kyuhyun pressing his face down as he takes him from behind-
Kyuhyun, Kyuhyun, Kyuhyun…
-
It’s too quiet in the apartment, just the silent drip of water in the kitchen sink and the faint buzz of the airconditioner. Kyuhyun had headed out, saying there was something he needed to do and Sungmin’s stomach was twisting. The calm before the storm.
The door opens and Sungmin bites down on his lips even though he had been expecting this. He turns, but freezes as he sees not only Kyuhyun, but also another man in the doorway.
“W-who is this, Kyuhyhun?” He asks immediately, a flash of annoyance shooting through him for no reason, which is quickly overtaken by fear. He tries to keep the waver out of his voice. Kyuhyun loved when Sungmin was scared.
“Oh this? I’d like you to meet my friend, Kibum. He’s a very nice man, Minnie, I think you’ll like him very much.” Kyuhyun drawls, a smirk on his face and Sungmin eyes this Kibum warily.
“Yes, very nice to meet you Sungmin-shi, Kyuhyun has told me a lot about you. I’d love to get to know you better.” The man’s voice is deep and calm, his words polite and Sungmin relaxes a little as they close the door behind them, moving to the couch.
Kyuhyun sits down next to Sungmin, a little too close for their comfort and when Kyuhyun drapes his hand across the younger man’s shoulders, squeezing a little, he knows that this Kibum is not just a visiting friend. He knew. Sungmin stiffens and tries to shrug the other man’s arm off, which only makes Kyuhyun grip him harder, his fingers now digging into Sungmin’s arm. “Now, now Minnie, Kibum here just suffered a very sad breakup, don’t you think you should comfort him?”
Kibum moves closer and now Sungmin can see a darker glint swirling in the depth of those calm eyes and a shiver goes through him as Kibum touches his hips. Kyuhyun pushes him down onto his back and holds down his arms as Kibum pulls Sungmin’s sweatpants and boxers down.
Sungmin struggles, squirming. “No! I said no! This isn’t part of the deal you son of a bitch!”
Kyuhyun silences him with a stinging slap across the face. “Listen you little slut, you belong to me. And my friend needs a piece of ass to screw and what better than your fat, cheap ass, Minnie?”
Sungmin goes silent with anger and hurt, tears sparkling in his eyes despite himself. The words hurt more than they should, getting under his skin and maiming what self-dignity he had left. He was nothing more than a convenient screw for Kyuhyun, a piece of meat to take out his frustrations on and not worth a second thought.
It’s with such hurtful thoughts squeezing his heart dry that Sungmin goes limp and lets Kibum push his thick cock between his legs. It hurts, the burn of being forced open, but not enough to drown out the pain in his chest. Kibum pushes in and out of him, hands digging into Sungmin’s thighs and Kyuhyun comes up to him as well, dropping his pants and forcing his cock into Sungmin’s mouth. The two of them pound into him and Sungmin chokes, tears sliding down his face, but not merely from the pain.
How could Kyuhyun love his brother so much and not even feel an ounce of those emotions for Sungmin?
-
Another day, another struggle behind closed doors. It’s getting too easy, too routine, almost as if this is a normal part of his life, as if Sungmin needs this.
Kyuhyun is fucking him with a dildo, the large length thrusted into him repeatedly and Sungmin knows that Kyuhyun has poisoned every part of him, because the pleas that had once been forced out now slipped from his tongue easily. He’s crying out and it hurts, but Sungmin’s still hard and begging shamelessly for more.
The phone rings and Kyuhyun picks it up, stilling above Sungmin’s heaving body. He’s not listening, just waiting for it to end and for Kyuhyun to continue, but before he realizes what’s happening, Kyuhyun is pulling out and scrambling out of bed, pulling on his pants and shirt, grabbing a jacket and running out the door.
-
The call was from the hospital and what follows is a jumble of colours and noises and foreign medical jargon that makes Sungmin’s head spin. The only thing that Sungmin really remembers of that night is staring at the lit-up sign of the surgery and watching in shock as Kyuhyun slumped against the wall and cried into his hands.
Hangeng dies in surgery.
He doesn’t, but it’s close, too close and Sungmin’s mind actually flashes white because he thinks he’s lost his brother forever. Sungmin bursts into tears and Kyuhyun drops to his knees when they see Hangeng lying weak and pale on the bed. Kyuhyun clasps onto Hangeng’s hand like a lifeline, as if he’s the one who almost died, muttering apologies and promises and words so heartfelt that Hangeng tears up.
-
There’s no one home, but Sungmin knows Kyuhyun is coming back at any moment, having been kicked out of the hospital by Hangeng and Siwon. Kyuhyun hasn’t slept properly since his brother’s accident and a frustrated Hangeng had his best friend take over bedside duties.
Sungmin hasn’t been with Kyuhyun since that night, mainly because Kyuhyun wouldn’t leave Hangeng’s side. Today will be the first time they are left alone and something flutters in Sungmin’s stomach as he wonders what will happen.
The door swings open and Kyuhyun pauses as he sees Sungmin, before stepping inside and closing the door behind him. Purposefully he strides up to Sungmin and grips his shoulders, but then instead of slamming him up against the wall, Kyuhyun bows, staying bent over. “I’m sorry. Sungmin, I’m so, so sorry. What I’ve done is unforgivable, evil. I know it’s not worth anything, but I’ve changed, I’m going to make it up to you and your brother. Please, give me a chance to earn your forgiveness, Sungmin.”
Sungmin stands frozen, eyes wide and breath caught in his throat. Kyuhyun…was apologizing? He was changed? That means that he’ll never touch Sungmin again-
With a cry, he pushes Kyuhyun away and he runs, runs as far as he can and even though Kyuhyun stays on the floor, Sungmin feels like he’s being chased, being bound by chains, never to escape.
-
One day, after Sungmin realizes he’s spent a whole day waiting for Kyuhyun to come into his room and fuck him, he decides to seduce the other man. He walks around the house in nothing but his short, shorts and when Kyuhyun finally walks up to him, Sungmin smiles and almost reaches to unbutton his shorts. Then Kyuhyun stills his hands and stares at him with sad, guilty eyes and tells him that he’s sorry, so very sorry, but he’s going to marry Geng.
Sungmin finds himself drunk and stumbling into Henry’s house in the middle of the night, crying and clinging onto his best friend; pressing drunken kisses onto the other boy and hands sliding everywhere, pleading and begging, until the other gives in. Sex with Henry wasn’t anything like sex with Kyuhyun, because Henry is infinitely more gentle and he touches Sungmin the way Kyuhyun touches Hangeng and it makes Sungmin want to break down and cry halfway through sex.
Henry loves him, perhaps more than anyone will ever love him, definitely more than Kyuhyun loved him and Sungmin huddles in the bathroom, hot tears on his cheeks, because he doesn’t deserve Henry. Not when he’s got two fingers inside of himself and tugging ruthlessly at his hardened member, Kyuhyun’s commanding gaze burning in his mind.
He comes in a flush of heat and humiliation, with Kyuhyun’s name on his lips and disgust worming itself inside him until Sungmin can’t hold it in anymore and throws up into the toilet bowl, tears falling hard and fast as he realizes just how broken he is.
