COMPLETE
Kyuhyun always had a way of just knowing things. It started when he was little, back when he didn't really understand, not what to do or why or anything. He always knew if something was wrong or out of the ordinary and he'd try to fix it. Only they didn't want him to fix it, they were scared of what he knew. He has learnt to keep his gift to himself.
He was usually the first to notice if something was wrong with one of the members, an anti-fan letter, a bad break up or the loss of another friend due to lack of communication. Yet, Kyuhyun was the magnae it wasn't his job, his place to take care of his hyungs. That wasn't the way it was done. So he'd let Leeteuk hyung take care of a crying Eunhyuk, leaves Heechul hyung to sooth a sad Donghae and only watches as Hankyung hyung hugs a homesick Ryeowook to sleep. He watches and knows and does nothing, because it's not his job to.
So when he sees the hard press of lips after a performance and the lowered eyes that doesn't hide sadness within and the clench of hands as Hankyung watches their videos, he knows he should just watch and know and do nothing. But then Kyuhyun catches sight of the tears, the longing and regret and shame in those beautiful eyes and something changes in him and he can no longer just watch.
It's an unspoken secret, the two of them disappearing during lunch or retreating early to their shared room. If the others notice, they say nothing. All of them could see the way Hankyung smiled was brighter and whatever Kyuhyun was doing, they weren't about to stop it. Behind closed doors, they joined with one another. Soft and slow and steadily building and changing and becoming something else all together. They taught each other and learned along the way, things they never knew. Something precious.
Kyuhyun watched, through the heavy curtains as the other stood on stage. Watched that gentle smile and those bright eyes and heard- no felt- that voice seep through him and it was powerful and breathtaking and more beautiful than anything he has ever heard. And he finally understood that his gift is a blessing, what else could they be when it had brought them together. They sang together a lot now, their voices so different yet blending just right somehow. It wasn't perfect, maybe it would never be-Hankyung was made to be a dancer and nothing else- but their voices together...it did something to Kyuhyun.
It made him feel complete.
