2. Any of your stories inspired by personal experience?
In terms of personal experience being a springboard for a story, there are only a few that I can say I consciously drew inspiration to start writing the story from RL.
Waiting was definitely drawn from people who didn't know if they had lost loved ones in the Indonesia earthquake in 2006.
Rain was written after I got caught in the rain (and got bored so started drabbling about characters being caught in the rain ... :P
Trivia was basically all about brain anatomy, because I was studying for an exam and ficcing it seemed like a better way that writing another practice essay on the ventromedial prefrontal cortex!
But I think a lot of my personal experience has definitely woven its way into my stories, even if I didn't set out to write them as such.
Thank you for giving me the chance to talk about it. I like to talk about writing way too much hehe.
I hope you enjoy the stories!
And *nods* I'm in complete agreement on the HP AU! I will say, though, that there are some that are AUs springing off canon (like 'what if Neville was the Chosen One') that can be beautifully executed ... but those still make rich use of the HP universe!
