About three weeks ago my hold on the e-book for Renegades by Marissa Meyer came through from the library (and its one of those where I have to check it out right off or I’d have to wait again for the next round) so I checked it out even though I was too insanely busy between school/work and drafting my DoW fic at the time. Finally got "The Burning Maze" yesterday but haven't started reading yet. In a normal world aka at home today would be public holiday and I'd be reading all day, but here I'm a work and church is at 7pm but I'm hopeful for the weekend, maybe even tomorrow night... I really need a break.

I liked "The Singer of Apollo" fine but also thought it was probably one of the weaker short stories (at least to me). I think my favourite was "The Stolen Chariot" because we got to see another side of Clarisse and Percy did too.

I just got it! I wasn't even going to let myself get a copy until my presentation was over because I knew I'd be tempted to crack it open. And now I'm exerting a lot of willpower to hold off until I get through my marking (52 scripts, ow) but on the bright side, I've been really powering through those so I think I can finally start reading this weekend. I'm thinking of doing a real chapter-by-chapter read through, and sharing my reactions as I go along.

I think my favourite short story is probably The Diary of Luke Castellan because it gave us a glimpse into that history and Luke's motivations (and I'm an absolute sucker for Annabeth-Thalia-Luke). I can't say I like Luke exactly, but I think he's fascinating as a 'villain'.
