It's an excellent character study of Snape using several missing moments from canon that allow a lot of insight into how he and Dumbledore interacted, and exactly what Dumbledore saw in him. It's written pre-DH, so maybe it twists the canon timeline a bit, but I found it very impressive given how accurately it pegged the characters before the full story came out.
