Why you should read this ...
This is one of the most touching first war fics I've come across, and something you don't want to miss!
Each section of this story is so tightly wound around Harry and what he is to each of the characters. It's impressive how clearly each one of them shows their different personalities in the way they interact with baby Harry - Remus, Sirius, and Peter especially. Remus's insecurities and fear of commitment are written really well. Sirius and how comfortable he is with Harry in the Muggle world is perfect, as is the darkness from his family that's always present, hanging over him. Peter I think is unique: a Peter who have regretted not that he sacrificed Harry, but that his friends, James and Lily, had been killed instead.
My only little quibble with the fic is the whole idea of Lily believing she did something concrete to save Harry. But this is offset by the good job the author did setting it up from the start as an underlying theme, so the whole thing flowed nicely.
