This is another of those jewels that you stumble across once in a while in fandom and thank whatever fanfic god there is that you found it. Characterisation is fantastic. The plot is intriguing. The development of the romance is well-paced and suitable.
It's an AU fic that deals very well with the what-if scenario, setting it and all the backstory up effectively. This one can really make you laugh, cry, sigh, feel ...
Though it's a WIP, the author seems very committed to having it finished, so I truly suggest you just hop on board and wait. I've read it thrice over since discovering it - that's how much it enthralls me.
